Almost 8 Years Later...

I still can't accept that he's gone. sad

I don't believe that he is still alive and hiding in Cuba, although the theory is very intriguing. If he is, I have never wanted to be more wrong in my life! I guess I'm just simpin' because the anniversary is fast approaching.

On this day in 1996 2Pac was still alive and well, somewhere...

yes I have seen those autopsy pics. I'm just glad he's happy and somewhere peaceful, not having to watch his back anymore.

It's also really sad how so many have passed him off as just a "gangsta"! which is just lazy!
it's also sad when people like Nelly, Chingy and "half a dollar" think they are the new pac!
and NO "We aint gonna love you like we loved pac"

hmmmmm just on his couple of his tunez he talks about coming back i.e. ghost and how come he is sellin more tunez now then back then. i dont care how long u spend in the studio but there must be a limit to the songs he could have made (if he is dead now) and frankly it doesnt look like it coz every year its either a new album, movie, or single. Still though keep them coming.

As much as I would like you to be right...

Even Prince admitted that he has THOUSANDS of songs that no one has ever heard. He couls easily release an album every year for the next 100 years just from unreleased songs. Tupac knew that he was gonna die. He felt that his time was near and so he went into the studio and started recording song after song. He felt that it was his destiny to die young. He even said that when he died it would be quiet. Tupac could very well have enough songs for the next 50 years or so, that doesn't mean that he is alive.

what a shame that someone who possessed such a talent blew it because of violence. instead of moving out of that lifestyle he continued to engage in it and, in the end, it cost him his life (just like he knew it would). it doesn't make his life more poetic. it doesn't make him "real" or "cool". it only makes his life a tragedy that will probably always overshadow the talent he encompassed.

You're entitled to your opinion, but

I don't think he was caught up in violence because he wanted to be. disbelief
He spent his entire record career talking about how he wanted to escape the violence but that it followed him wherever he went. That's why he eventually drew the conclusion that he was meant to die young.

Yes he was ghetto and proud of it. At the same time Tupac Shakur was a very smart and intelligent man. He was very knowledgeable and well educated. U need 2 read some of his poems. When he was in the streets, he became a product of the streets, but away from it he was very sensitive and warm and intelligent as the next man. I can understand how one can get the wrong impression of him, because I did when I first heard him. After listening 2 his music and reading on him, I had a different opinion of him. If u get a chance, please read inside A Thug’s Heart by Angela Ardis with original poems and letters from Tupac. He was very talented and gifted. It’s sad when u become a victim of your environment and basically that’s what happen 2 him. Also rent or buy Tupac Resurrection and holla back.

I don't want to know his work, coz what i've heard sounds stupid...
My contribution to this thread is only my opinion, and there is nothing wrong with that.
All I say is that I don't think this man was that talented that he is a legend now.. This is only coz he died.... If the man was still alive, he probably be making songs with P.Diddy or something...
He totally did not add anything to the music scene at all (and that is what i think!

I don't think Tupac was "GHETTO" as much as he related and had some ghetto stories....his passion was the hood and he was a young man that spoke before he thought...which is why he was hated by some and much of the reason for his death. Nonetheless, a very smart man....attended a performing arts school (with Jada pinkett) and wrote lovely poetry.

I'm one of the few that actually went to see the movie that came out...it was a very interesting spin on his life.....

But as the bible says and as he said....you live it, you die by it....

I was a fan and still a fan of his and I'm sure there will be a cd released soon....lol..

oh and lennon.....don't use the media to make your decisions for you....when pac was alive I think he was moving towards more positive things towards the end....engagement to Quincy Jones' daughter...movie deals...etc.....which is why there were the rumors that Suge was behind the death of Pac....

No, that kind of things don't bother me at all... Saw some documentary about his life and death and it was interesting, but nothing more..

I only think a lot of ppl overreact by giving him the legend status... he was just a rapper, nothing more... (to me)
Sure, i liked the song California.. and i've heard some stuff, coz i worked at a record store for 7 years, but when he died he became really popular... and that is maybe the thing I don't like about him...Lived a ridiciouls life with danger, and died coz of that...
I hate it when ppl worship him for being a gangster...
