Personally, I fucking love 'em, but there's not much chance Ms. Apple's gonna do anything that doesn't make me whimper.

That being said though, I'm particularly enthralled by these tracks and the directions she seems to be taking. Her lyrics and the way she sings them - it feels like God singing into my soul. Yeah, I'm a cheeseball, bite my cock.

"A Better Version of Me" and "Extraordinary Machine" are so different! I love the music in "A Better Version of Me", especially the percussion. "Extraordinary Machine" is great too, really cool and unlike anything out now.

It's a Gatdam shame that the music industry has changed so much... Not even 10 years ago, Tori Amos was allowed to release Boys For Pele. There was some resistance, but she was able to produce her own cd and put it out. It's sad that now, an aritst with similar abilities and creativity, who may have been inspired by Tori, can't do her own thing. Extraordinary Machine sounds very jazzy, and "out there" in terms pop music. Tori did the same kind of thing with Boys for Pele and she was hugely successful. Why wont record companies take this chance anymore?

The latest word is that it supposedly is set to be released in February. After hearing these 2 tracks, I'm chomping at the bit.

I think it's pathetic that for the rest of her career the record company's gonna keep telling her "Yeah it's nice, but we want another Criminal...."

Anyway, glad some of y'all enjoyed the songs as much as I did!!

The record label has no balls or vision. These two songs are fantastic and at least deserve to see the light of day. The problem is that so many of these labels are now run by conglomerates that are only nominally involved with musicians -- they bought the cash cow labels right as they were starting to crash and now they are like crying babies wanting the tit. They are having a hell of a time coming out of the nosedive and having to try to run a business that they are not familiar with, really.

If this is released and is a hit, they will claim all of the credit, you watch and see.

Fiona's a fierce artist. Sometimes I feel like the industry doesn't deserve her, so good is her music.

I've been basically passing these 2 songs out to people at work - I tend to do that, must be annoying! - and so far every reaction I've gotten is positive.

When I tell people the record label doesn't hear a single, they all say "What about that Better Version of Me? There's a single right there! And who gives a fuck about singles nowadays anyway?"

I'll be the party poop and say I can see why her record company is sitting on the album. Don't care for either track. And I tend to like odd ball music. "Another Version of Me" or whatever it's called sounds like the theme song for a bad sitcom. "Extraodinary machine" sounds like Mary Poppins tune.
