falloff Yeah, I know. (Although that line is originally in Robert Johnson's Travelling Riverside Blues though.)

But it's still one of my favorite Zeppelin songs. JPJs bass playing on that one.... drool

I would have to say Bonnie Raitt. To this day, no one(even Hendrix) could play a guitar better than her. Prince, move over. Hendrix, you have been dethroned. Make room for the new greatest guitarist ever

Just when I think I'm the only one on this site who's heard this song, someone comes along and surprises me. That track is just WICKED. Beck is untouchable.

Ernie Isley! I read somewhere that it was an Isley brother (I thnk it was Ernie) who taught Jimi Hendrix guitar because Jimi was left-handed. I DO know Jimi was very close to the Isleys - they made him an "honorary" Isley. They wanted him to be a memeber of the band, but amicably parted ways because of Jimi's lifestyle.

Anyway. Ernie. smile

Man, we have had so many threads on this topic, "Best Black Guitarist" "Best Funk Country Jazz Guitarist" "Best This, Best That". But no, on a serious note and in a nut shell, Hendrix. I have many, many others that come after Jimi, but Hendrix, no question.
