I haven't even heard of that. Good damn it I'm going to be spending a lot of money. What sucks about is that I assume it will include a lot of the material already released on the special edition AFY, which most fans own. I'll have to take a look. And does this mean there aren't anymore DJ videos? Who knows considering they didn't put the SOAG video on the AFY set! I actually heard "R&B Junkie" on the radio but have yet to hear "All Nite". What a crime that the song didn't crack the top 100!

It doesn't look bad and it seems like there are a ton of extras but mostly it's Janet on Ryan Seacreast but also includes a prefromance at MuchMusic. They don't include the "Just A Little While" video, which was terrible but some of the outfits looked good (she wore something that looked just like the "Superbowl" outfit) but they do have a live performance of that which runs nearly 6 mins! And I think it was a pretty short song. And Best Buy appears to have the best price, at only $14.99. I'll probably get the Kylie DVD as well and hold off on "Clerks X", which I wouldn't be shocked to find in a bargin bin sooner or later. [Edited 9/7/04 9:32am]

I still haven't seen this video in it's entirety. The only part I catch is the end when she runs and kisses JD.

[Edited 9/7/04 9:32am] It also includes a short featurette entitled, "The Making of All Nite (Don't Stop)." There's an interview. There's scenes with her in the recording studio making the DJ album. There's a 15-photo picture gallery (has color versions of the black & white DJ album insert images). Dolby Digital sound. I'm mad that "Doesn't Really Matter" won't be included on this comp. I can't seem to get that video on DVD anywhere! Also, no "R&B Junkie" video in sight. Shame, shame! . [Edited 9/7/04 11:03am]

Actually, since it's a really shitty movie, rent it and rip the video yourself or have someone else rip it to DVD for you.

THe cover art looks more like photo shop than Prince's "Musicology" and Heart's latest combined! Janet's body looks hot in that photo, but she also appears stoned! I like the "All Nite" single cover, with her smiling face, much better. Anyway, DRM probably isn't on there becuase she did it for Def Jam and in fact probably had the slightly different verison of it on the AFY album for that reason (I've thought that for years...it's the only explanation for those damned remixed elements). I wouldn't be shocked if she released a greatest hits soon (the last shout for Virgin) and DRM is either totally remixed, live or not included at all.

I don't understand why they didn't what to release the "Design" DVD. I don't think that Virgin sees "20 Fore Play", which I don't think was a hit (probably didn't have a proper single release, which was needed back then to chart) as a priority (they ignored DRM and the cover speaks for itself) while A&M needed to put a big "janet" hit on "Design" so it didn't look like just the "Control" and RN hits.

Why didn't they include TWENTY FOREPLAY, DOESN'T REALLY MATTER, and WHAT'S IT GONNA BE?! (WITH BUSTA RHYMES) Instead of throwing together this half assed hodgepodge of clips?! The Velveteers deserve more! Speaking of more, WHY NO "ASK FOR MORE" VIDEO?!?! If they wanted to stick with the album singles, they should've included them all (even the JALW video). I wonder if Janet wanted that left off? Why didn't they put "Throb" '94 SNL or "AN(DS)" or "Strawberry Bounce" '04 SNL on there? And what's up with them not including Janet's '98 "I Get Lonely" performance on the Rosie O'Donnell show?! THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCES OF HER CAREER What's up with no "Together Again (DJ Premier Just Tha Bass)" live at the '98 AMAs or "What About" live at the 98 VH1 Fashion Awards? They could've went all out with this compilation and I would've shelled out the dollars! Virgin sucks.

there's a lot of stuff that virgin should have put on and left off. it is a rehsh of the all for you dvd...not much new excluding the damita jo stuff. i agree, janfan, some of those tv performances would have been a nice touch. it seems like virgin just doesn't know what to do with her or just doesn't care. you'd think in an industry where the newbies are dropping off after their first record the companies would want to support their meal tickets. i'm guessing they've given up on the whole damita jo project. such a shame...we probably won't even get a tour out of this cd.

just play the janet. concert, or the TVR concert, or the AFY concert, and whenever she's doing the most recent songs for each show, just mute and play the DamitaJo singles on your stereo instead "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

Prince's Batman singles were loaded with dialogue sampled from the movie and therefore couldn't be included on his Hits CDs. Same goes for the DRM video. It was probably too much trouble to acquire the rights to the scenes from The Nutty Professor again that were used in the video.
