Any orgers out there digging Zuco 103? I've been playing their latest cd Tales of High Fever on a daily basis for about 2 months. Obviously, I'm really feeling it. I did enjoy their first effort Outro Lado but they've shown much growth with their lastest release. If I had to place it in a category, I would file it in between Bebel Gilberto and Les Nubians. It's kinda like a Electronic, Bossa, neo-soul gumbo, if that makes any sense. Though, most of the vocals are in spanish it doesn't stop the music from sinking in. The majority of the cd is made up with tracks of laid back grooves with earthy vocals on top and a couple of high energy songs. Though it may be the most disturbing track on the album for some reason, I'm in love with Morro Electrico there's something very haunting about this track. Anyways, if you're adventurous and dig Bebel or Les Nubians, you should add this to your collection.

Yes!!!!! Finally, I'm not the only one that loves Zuco 103. I'm still waiting for that double CD to come out. Apparently, it has some remixes from "High Fever" as well as new and live tracks! Yeah, 667, you hit the nail right on the head. Zuco is a mix of Bossa Nova, Electronica/Dance, and Neo-Soul. It's definitely great chill-out music if you're lounging with some friends or if you're at a club. I'd love to sing the lyrics, but most of them are in Portuguese (not Spanish, 667). There are very few songs they do in English. Some of my favorite tracks are "Get Urself 2gether", "I Came, But.....", "Voltande" and "Peregrine". I'd love to see this band live, but they won't be hitting the States anytime soon. [Edited 9/2/04 18:56pm] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

(Especially, the lead vocalist! ) But, You're right I highly doubt they'd be coming here anytime soon. Their record label Six Degrees is out of San Fran, so I could see them performing there if they were to come to the states. Maaaan, I can't tell the difference between Portuguese and Spanish, thanks for hipping me to that fact. By the way this thread sank, I think you and I are the only people here feeling this band, but that's what's make them so cool.
