Chantay Savage...I love her song "Betch'll Never Find" (video version) and I also love her rendition of "I Will Survive"...and to think she did'nt want to record it unless she was able to change it and make it her own and that she did. I like her version, I don't really care for the original by Gloria Gaynor.

Amel Larrieux: loved her in Groove Theory and I also love her solo efforts, another case of a slept on artist.

Tracie Spencer: I've been a fan since her debut...I used to play Symptoms of True Love like crazy. The album Make A Difference has always been in heavy rotation in my Cd player. I hate that she waited so long to come out with a new CD especially after Make A Differnce selling big time and Tender Kisses stayed #1 on the pop charts for weeks, she did'nt receive enough promotion etc.

Angie Stone: Love her solo stuff and her music from when she was in the group Vertical Hold.

CeCe Peniston: I used to play the hell out of Keep On Walking, I'm Movin' On and I'm In The Mood.

Shanice: There are no words to express...she is such a great talent, how many cds does she have to release for her people to promote her....some of my favorites:

I remember the video to "I Will Survive." Saw it on Video Soul. That was very chill song. Remember she was rolling down the street in a nice car wearing a goose down jacket with a fur collar -- looking very east coast!



Have both of her LPs. The Groove Theory LP was bumpin'. Loved "Baby Luv," "Tell Me," "Time Flies," "Hey U," and "Come Home."



Ditto on this girl. "Make The Difference" was a quality LP. You had house/club jams like "This House," dance tracks like "This Time Make It Funky" and the Rhythm Nation knock off "Double O Rhythm" (equipped with a faux Janet-like credo opening). I adored "Love Me" and "Tender Kisses." She was the girl.



CeCe forever gets props in my book for "Finally." A dance classic.



YES! YES! YES! This girl was majorly slept on. I loved the "Inner Child" LP and I dug her contribution to the Meteor Man SDTK "It's For You" (man, that was a great song). Shanice has the voice of an angel. When she sings, I feel so bubbly and giddy -- like a protected child. "You Ain't All That" was one of my favorites by her as well as the Babyface penned "Ain't Got No Remedy." Plus, the ones you mentioned.

Cut Close, they worked together with Keith Sweat.

I don't believe you of all people forget Janet (although I understand why, since your thread focuses more on ladies that came out and hit in the ninties), who was an R&B force with the "janet" album and then kind of freaked out her R&B fan base with "The Velvet Rope" even though it had it felt like old school soul with some smooth funk. Janet sort of recaptured her R&B fan base again with a bunch of one off's with rappers like Shaggy and Busta Rhymes and I'm pretty sure that "Boyfriend/Girlfriend" with BlackStreet was bigger on the R&B charts than it was on the pop.
