American Life actually released more than one single? Was this in the U.S. or out of the country? Were any of the singles hits for Madonna? I was under the impression that American Life flopped big time. As far as promoting artists in general, I could go on and on...

Die Another Day
American Life
Hollywood
Love Profusion
Nobody Knows Me
Nothing Fails

were all singles.

Only American Life charted. Nobody Knows Me was a club-only release, but still got its own 12'' releases so I'm counting it as a single. Some of the mixes were B-sides on the Nothing Fails CD single.

Singles released in the states or out of the country? Are you speaking of singles that you've seen in the record stores for sale or have you actually heard all of these songs off of American Life on the radio by Madonna? I'm asking because as much as I listen to the radio, I have never heard any of the above mentioned songs played by Madonna outside of Die Another Day and American Life. Songs released overseas are not necessarily released in the states.

This set got Euro and Australian releases. It was a limited edition, and was deleted in 1996. They still sell the regular 18-track album without the bonus disc, though.

IMHO the Cool Summer Mix of Diamonds is about on par with the original. The Cool Summer Mix loses the funky edge of the original, but replaces it with a breezy, luxurious instrumental. Nice work. There are actually a bunch of Cool Summer mixes of Diamonds - this one is about 10 seconds longer than the orginal 7'' Edit.

There are alot of sites I frequent to purchase hard to find out of print music. I was able to find it. The internet is a great place to start or your local record store. The mom and pop shops have everything, not just the current/same ole old school cds.

As I stated, none of them charted (other than DAD and AL). But yes, Love Profusion, Nothing Fails and Hollywood (which got the most radio play) all got US commercial maxi releases, while Nobody Knows Me got a 12'' release. So while I highly doubt you heard them on the radio (nobody did, really!), they were indeed singles that were issued to radio and commercial formats in the US. wink

Actually, some of these songs do appear on the international (import) version of Design of a Decade. This collection has an extra CD which contains "Young Love", "Say You Do", and "Don't Stand Another Chance". Other noteworthy inclusions are "French Blue", a song produced by Jesse Johnson during the Dream Street sessions, and a remix of "Diamonds" that is far superior to the original.

I thought I owned all of the imports...can you upload a photo or post a link so I can find out where to purchase it? Are you talking about Diamonds by Herb Alpert featuring Lisa Keith and Janet Jackson on background vocals??? Does the version on the import only include Janet?

"Diamonds" was actually Herb Alpert with Janet on the main vocals not Lisa Kieth

"Making Love in the rain" one of my favorite slow jams from the late 80's was actually Herb Alpert with Lisa Kieth on Main vocals and Janet doing backing vox and the chours.....LOVE THAT SONG.....
I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.
And I am

Yeah, Lisa Keith does backing vocals on Diamonds.

Although the song is actually credited to "Herb Alpert (Vocals By Janet Jackson & Lisa Keith)", so you can't really blame people for thinking that wink
