What's yo flava?

My bf just bought Aaron Hall's "The Truth" and I had forgotten how awesome that man was. The whole album is tight work. But, something that I could never figure out was how R. Kelly managed to be more popular than Aaron Hall. I've always thought R to be quite mediocre. Don't get me wrong; R has got some good songs. My favorite R. Kelly song is "Unfortunate". Sure, he didn't sing it, but he wrote, produced, and composed it and it's a great song. However, Aaron Hall beats R's ass with "I Miss You". He sings that song like he means every word of it. You don't just hear it; you feel it.

So, that's my flava. What's yours? wink

sad That's sad. Just like when I found out that Brian McKnight was a wifebeater. Wasn't a surprise when I found out that R. Kelly was a child molester though. Man, they've all done some messed up stuff, fo real.

biggrin I loves me some Craig David. My favorite song from him is "4 times a lady". There's a picture of Prince in the gallery, the one where P is wearing that knit cap, that always reminds me of Craig David. Damn, he's hot! lick

as long as they're beating women of age, then they're both miles ahead of Mr. Kelly.

I had no idea either. He comes off to be this sweet, loving, and caring man. But I guess all wife beaters do. Well he along with the rest of the wife beaters can go to hell.

Yeah, R kelly on his first album wanted to be both Teddy and Aaron and yes R kelly basically ripped off aarons voice but then Aaron did of Charlie wilson so.....but yeah it was odd that someone like R kelly imitated an artist voice that had only been around since the late 80's.....

I got "The truth" and I think it's ok....."I miss u" is a classic 4 me (though i prefer After 7 on the slow jam tip) but the verion of "Dont be afraid" is wack when compared to the "Juice soundtrack" original version.....luckily i have both cd's

I always liked "Pick up the phone" and "get a little freaky with me".....last of the New jaack stompers were those fast paced cuts!

that reminds me of a funny exchange between my mother and my brother. she was getting on him for calling it a wifebeater. "that's tacky and offensive"... and he said "what else am i supposed to call it?" she said..... "well, you know, it's called a dego t".... "yeah that's a LOT better"

This is pretty funny! Tony actually got his start in a band I was in back in Detroit. I remember when he couldn't even play. As time went on his musicianship, songwriting and singing improved rather quickly. It really surprises me that he fell off the way he has. He's capable of writing much better material. His unreleased stuff is tight!

Love & Light,
