Okay I've heard everybody and their mama raving about this group and particularly the albums Kid A and OKComputer. I'm ready to de-virginize my ears so which one should I start with?

OKComputers a better starter its more mainstream than KidA which can be a bit of a difficult listen.

Get OK Computer & The Bends. They're the best of the bunch. When your'e finished with them, Get the most recent Hail to the thief. From there ease on into Kid A & Amnesiac. Add sprinkles to your Sunday by watching the doc/movie Meeting People is Easy directed by Grant Gee. It covers the group during the year OK blew up and thrusted the into fame. This should be more than enough, but you are free to throw tomatoes if you don't like them.

i would start with 'the bends'...its not as heady as the later stuff. if you want to dive head first, though, just grab 'kid a' and go for it.

"Meeting People Is Easy" is After Effects hell. There's some interesting clips in it, but its so mangled with trendy editing and annoying special effects, that its a pain in the ass to watch.

That's what I did. I figured I could sample these from the library for free before I buy and I got Kid A first. I don't even know how to describe it. For now all I can think is Coldplay on some kind of trippy acid, but I can dig it. Like Supernova is doing with The Roots, I need to marinate on this one. I'm almost afraid to go backwards

Kid A isn't representative of the rest of their albums.

I have heard some of The Bends, OK Computer, and last year's shit, but I really only have bought (and enjoy) Kid A.

A friend of mine says each one of their albums could be from totally different bands so you can't feel like you know what to expect from album to album. I guess I gotta get 'em all

I got into them listening to an import My Iron Lung (nice accoustic version of Creep on there) and then graduated to OKCopmuter etc... I'm a big fan now.

OK Computer is not an album. It is a journey. From Airbag to The Tourist.
