To think the concept behind some of 'em was considered good back then. The same could be said about alot of the music of the time. It amazes me that so much of the 80s is dated and corny , yet earlier decades still sound fresh . This is why I'm an outcast on the Org when it comes to '80s music - I HATE IT! I don't hate it all, but overall it just doesn't have the same relevance for me that previous decades do. Generally Prince fans love that decade because that's when they were coming of age, and everybody likes the music they grew up listening to. I was a kid in junior high and high school for most of that time too, but it's not one of my favorite eras for music. I've always been a bit odd, I guess I'm odd in that way too. I wouldn't say you're an outcast .There seems to be a core group in this forum who tend to prefer earlier periods as well ( myself included). As you say , the 80s didn't suck completely ,but I think thats when the crass corporate commercialization really began to dig in at the expense of artistry.I could be wrong ,tho, because Im aware of earlier examples as well. Maybe its just the cheezy keyboard sounds of the time [This message was edited Sat Aug 7 19:11:01 2004 by MrTation] "...all you need ...is justa touch...of mojo hand....."

Aaron Hall's "I Miss You". I still remember that video frame-by-frame. It used to make me cry. Sad, but extremely great video and song. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"

Oh My God! I remember this one. When I was younger, my mom would only let me watch the Disney Channel (I know, very sad) and that video used to be on all the time. Good times!
