Anybody hear the new Faces box set Five Guys Walk Into A Bar?

Just wondering if anybody has heard this box set and if they would recommend it. I'm sure I'll get it eventually but if anyone could give me an idea of what's on it I would appreciate it.

No Faces fans in the org. For shame.

I've been a fan since the Steve Marriott - Small Faces days.
(Itchycoo Park, Tin Soldier)

Just haven't heard this set. Here's a comment from a supposed longtime fan:

Sorry I can't give this the glorious reviews like some listeners. The set is very uneven and a pretty tough listen even for a longtime dedicated Faces fan like myself. Several tracks are simply "melody-less" instrumetals that go nowhere and others are fair to poor bootleg quality live recordings whcih almost offend the listener. The only real treat provided here that is not already contained in the previously released Rhino compilation "The Best Of Faces: Good Boys When They're Asleep" are the BBC live tracks. But, the BBC tracks are randomly scattered throughout the four discs, losing any continuity or flow they might have had if they were presented on a single disc. I am sure Ian McLagan who helped put this box together thought he was being clever or something with the track order here. Personally I find it annoying and very tough to keep my finger off the "skip track" button. Yes, all the great songs are here and there are a few hidden gems. They sound on the commercially released studio tracks is superb. But unless your a dedicated, diehard Faces fan or feel like going on a musical treasure hunt, best to stick with the single disc best of or just buy all 5 Faces albums in one swift purchase. Wait for this box to hit the cut-out or used bin.

Hmm, thanks for posting this review. Any reviews I've read gave the set 5/5. It is a little expensive but I think I'll pick it up regardless.

That's what I figured, which is the reason for posting an opposing viewpoint. wink
Let me know what you think once you've listened a bit.
