This commentary was posted under the In A Squared Circle listing on cduniverse: "This record is actually my favortie Stevie Wonder album. Not that it has an even high averege song cascade, but it has part time lover. Which is according to my opinion the greatest song ever to has been released except Tacos, putting on the ritz." If you're still upright, I would actually like to hear your commentary on the albums from Music Of My Mind forward. Okay, now back to the topic! I’ll just give you my personal ratings of Stevie albums... 1. You already know, so I'll spare you the title! I honestly believe that I'm so partial to this album not only because it was released a mere 10 days after I was born but just the simple fact that there is such a wide range of musical influences Stevie incorporated. I've NEVER been able to listen to a double album where EVERY SINGLE track can be listened to without skipping. I also find it amazing how he incorporates the melodies of two songs into completely different arrangements-creating three or four ("The Secret Life of Plants" and part one of "The First Garden" and "Venus Flytrap and The Bug" and part two of "The First Garden" with "Come Back As A Flower"). Stevie incorporated soul, jazz, Eastern, Asian, African, folk and rock into a solid masterpiece. 2. Talking Book "Maybe Your Baby" is like the epitome of funk to me! This is probably his most solid album next to the above. Again, you can listen to ALL the tracks without skipping and the songs and melodies are fun, catchy and ingenious. 3. In Square Circle Not only does the 80s production make this album so tight, Stevie's voice NEVER sounded any better. He's doing runs and riffs that he never explored previously. Also, he sings a lot of them in a higher tenor than usual once again, expanding his musical repertoire! 4. The Woman In Red Soundtrack Again, all the songs are on point with some excellent ballads on here ("It's You," "It's More Than You," "Moments Aren't Moments" and "Weakness"). My only complaint is that the album is not long enough (only 8 tracks). 5. Innervisions This is the year of the Arp and Moogs!!! Stevie incorporates them in his music so well and I love all the tracks on here! 6. Fulfillingness' First Finale I especially like this album because it's more laid-back and carries a spiritual-like vibe (my favorite being "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away") 7. Music of My Mind Great album! You can tell Stevie was trying to "find" his sound on this album. Some really good tracks on here, but you get the sense that he was a novice when it came to producing himself. Still love the powerful "Where Were You When I Needed You" 8. Hotter Than July Good album, but after "Master Blaster (Jammin')" the album kind of falls off to me. 9. Songs In The Key of Life See http://www.prince.org/msg/8/104145 10. Character Good album, but has its..."moments" at times. 11. Jungle Fever I like this album, but don't really like all of the songs. 12. Conversation Peace I'd rather not talk discuss this.

Yup, it's confirmed, "He's Misstra Know-It-All". Maybe I shouldn't talk until I can get the album title correct. That should have been In Square Circle. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Do you believe that dude? Anyway, thanks for that. I'd have thought Music Of My Mind would have rated a little higher but I understand your reasoning. Forgot all about the tunes on The Woman In Red disc. I have a super soft spot in my heart for the early stuff (tunes I grew up with). Songs you'd find on Greatest Hits Vol.1&2. Uptight I'm Wondering I Was Made To Love Her Fingertips Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day (one of my favs) Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours We Can Work It Out It's just the raw recordings, the gritty grooves, the energy that jumps off of those tracks even today that still get to me. Thanks again. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Actually I can only agree on most things you said, especially on that album that should remain unnamed But I am surprised you put f.e. In Square Circle so much higher than SITKOL. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loooove "In square circle", bought all available 12inches back in the days'n shit. But for every track on there I could hold one against taken from SITKOL, that is at least equal. And after doing this there would STILL be many tracks left to add as an extra bonus, therefore ranking SITKOL above. I would really be interested to hear your rating of the songs on SITKOL, and what are the ones you skip when listening? Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

The main reason I rated In Square Circle so high goes back to my reasoning earlier. Although the songs and production are great, Stevie's voice NEVER sounded better. As a singer myself, I tend to gravitate towards exceptional and unique voices. With this album, Stevie's voice was so on point it's not even funny. Not that the man couldn't sing before, but his range is far greater on this album than anything he had previously done (ie. the ad-libing at the end of on "Stangers On The Shore of Love" and "Land of LA LA"). I would really be interested to hear your rating of the songs on SITKOL, and what are the ones you skip when listening?
Sure thing! Rather than listing the songs I skip, I'll just tell you the ones I listen to... "Have A Talk With God" "Village Ghetto Land" "Contusion" "I Wish" "Ordinary Pain" "Another Star" "Easy Goin' Evening (My Mama's Call)" Again, no doubt that the album is good, just not enough for me to consider it among one my my "favorites"

Okay, I have to defend "As." I'm not very left-brained. So when I have to remember whether it's the sun that revolves around the earth or vis-versa, I sing the first line of "As." (I'm completely serious.)
Again 'pimpn, would you prefer five days of Christmas?
