I'm so praying that Capitol/EMI will do a re-master of this one, adding on "Say The Word" (they also HAVE to do The Power Station)

powerstation and arcadia re-issues

Hey Katy - Great news on the second Singles Box Set. What ever became of the Powerstation and Arcadia re-issues? Thanks, Adam

HI ADAM. I CHECKED WITH EMI. THEY ARE TENTATIVELY SHOOTING FOR A FEBRUARY 2005 RELEASE FOR THE POWERSTATION BUT HAVE NOTHING PLANNED FOR ARCADIA AT THIS TIME.

That is just plain WRONG!!!

All those remasters.... don't like em.... unless they add something extra....

You can still buy the 2 Power Station cd's and Arcadia at the stores here in Holland!
For a little price also!

I bought the 2nd PS cd for €1.-!!!! razz

You don't like the remasters??? Why? The sound is sooooo much better (and, in the case of the first album, they restored the original tracklisting to include "To The Shore"). They also restored all the original artwork, which I just love.

Oh, and in the case of Arena, it DOES have bonus tracks.

worship To The Shore!!! drool

You know, I didn't get the Arena remaster! doh! I did get the dvd, but only watched parts of the documentary. I think I'll check it out this weekend. Sing Blue Silver was awesome to watch, without all the glitches of my video copy. I got used to those and expected them on the dvd!

Well, i did buy the 1st album coz to the shore (GREAT SONG) was on it, but the thing I hate about them is that I first buy an album (as a fan) and then they release a remaster.... Just a way of easy money!

What extra's are on Arena cd??
razz
I also enjoyed these Arena and Sing blue silver dvd's.. has been a long time seeing them.... Yep, i feel a Duran Duran addiction coming up!!!

Well you certainly got me started again!!! Check out my last post over here: http://www.prince.org/msg/8/105691

By the way, I became a hardcore Duranie in 86, before I became a Prince fan... (That was in 91ish...) So Duran is my first love and the band that inspired me to create music. That's why I love them soooo much! And Nick and Simon are my main inspirations, so Arcadia is like HEAVEN!!!

So Red The Rose is one of my all tiem favorite albums. I can honestly say that this project is what pushed me over the edge into full blown Duranie territory! "The Promise" is one of my favorite songs, and not just because of the fact that it has members of three of my favorite bands participating on it (The Duran guys, Sting from The Police and David Gilmour from Pink Floyd). There isn't a bad song on the whole thing!!

I'm so praying that Capitol/EMI will do a re-master of this one, adding on "Say The Word" (they also HAVE to do The Power Station)

it had david gilmour and sting? i gotta check this out. is it real different from duran duran, like power station was?
In my own way, I am the king. Hail to the king, baby!! chainsaw

YES! It's very ethereal, kinda jazzy/gypsy/avant-garde. You might be able to listen to samples over here: http://entertainment.msn....ist=131277

Well, I remember always liking Duran's stuff, but when So Red The Rose hit, I picked it up because I LOVED "Election Day". I was so blown away by the album (especially Nick Rhodes keyboard work. He created sonic landscapes that were so dreamlike and ethereal, they just hypnotised me) that I had to hear more by these guys. I wound up getting all the Duran albums to date, and I was HOOKED!! They quickly rose to prominence alongside Prince! Still hooked to this day! Can't wait for Astronaught!!!!!

Nick is a synth GOD!!!

There is something so passionate, so powerful and magical that I find in Nick's synth work. He just hits a chord in me that no one else can.

nod amen to that!!! I must also state that I was also quite taken with Simon's lyrics. I still think he is one of the greatest poets of modern pop/rock music.

yes Simon was equally inspirational to me, with his obscure and poetic lyrics and his passionate voice. worship
