Erykah Badu - Live (1997)

One of the best live albums I own. Please, check this record out.

DEEEEP.

The whole album is solid.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have Mama's Gun (stellar, the bomb!) and Worldwide Underground (nice), but don't have the live one so I'll check it out.

I never owned any of Erykah's music until a friend brought me to one of her concerts. Now I can't get enough!

Worth it for her covers of Chaka/Rufus' 'Stay' and Mary Jane Girls' 'All Night Long' horns

have you heard her newest collaboration with Zap Mama? It should be coming out in September on their album. If you loved Mama's Gun, I'm sure you'd be a fan of it.

I think I'm weird eek I bought this album, burned Tyrone & took it back confused It just didn't do it for me. I think I tend to judge too quickly. I thought Worldwide Underground was neutral & took that back too, then ended up burning 4 songs off it from ITunes nuts sad
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

shocked OMG...and don't see how anyone could not like that cd. Tyrone is actually my least favorite. I love that cd, especially track 2.

I love the overall "sound" of this album - a stripped-down band, but one that can really cut it live. Drums, bass, fender rhodes, and vocals on top - it's really simple but it works. I saw her live on another tour just after Mama's Gun came out, but I don't think it was as good as this album. Sounded more like the kind of "generic Rnb backing-group", whereas this had a cool, jazzy vibe to it.

I think this was kind of the sound that Prince was going for on TRC, which is one of my favourite Prince albums, musically....
