Caetano Veloso's Foreign Sound

Not sure if anyone listens to him here but a few of you listened to Bebel so you should know him. Anyhow...

I just got Foreign Sound and at first I was afraid to hear this man that I hold in such high esteem do an album of American songs, but its absolutely great! All of the songs sound so different and interesting from their originals. Great interpretations of Dylan's "Its Alright Ma" and Come As You Are, Love For Sale, Cry Me a River! The man's a genius! music

Was thinking about him when I saw Almodovar's La Mala Educacion, so when I saw the album in the store hesitated a few times before buying it, but now I'm glad I did!

Anyone else here a Veloso fan??
Change it one more time..

I only have one of his albums, "Estrangeiro " from 1989 (produced by Arto Lindsay) and I really like his voice and his compositions...I know he was a big influence on Arto, and I'm a big fan of artists like Djavan, Ivan Lins, [/b]and Dori Caymmi, so I really need to check Caetano out more...

He's an absolute genius, amazing writer and composer, some of his work in english is ok but he's written some absolute masterpieces in Portuguese.

I grew up listening to his music along with many others like Djavan and Gilberto Gil who are absolute essentials in my collection.
