Eddie & Ernie/Great Soul Duo

Eddie And Ernie was a great soul duo in the late 60's and 70's and was one of the only duo's to write their own material. They were in the vein of Sam & Dave, but much better vocalists. Closer to Sam Cooke. They recorded for many different labels such as Eastern Records and Artco. They were very popular in England and longtime fans of theirs include Lou Reed and David Bowie. Eddie Campbell, who was my father, was the lead vocalist of the duo and main songwriter. Their best song of all was "Standing At The Crossroads" which was written by my dad. Even though that's a solo vocal recording by my father {which has James Jamerson on bass I might add}, it's billed as "Eddie & Ernie". They have a compilation out entitled "Lost Friends" which was released in 2002 by the Kent label. They also have their own web page that you can visit. It's www.soulwalking.co.uk. There's a little mention of yours truly in there. Anyway, if you're not hip to them and you like soul music ala Sam Cooke, check this cd out.

DITTO here about the realplayer. I don't have realplayer on my computer at home, it keeps saying it needs to upgrade but they ask for a credit care number.....Yeah, right. We have "realplayer one" at work though and I am definitely going to check it out.

As paligap said "talent obviously runs in the family". Hope you find success yourself.

That is very cool. Thanks for sharing that with us. Most of the world's greatest musical artists, especially today, remain largely unheralded. It's a damn shame, but the Internet certainly helps overcome the bullshit.
