Bjork's "Alarm Call" is about Michael Jackson bjork. com says: Due to the production-title "Jacko" as found on the Homogenic demo tape, it is rumored to be a song in tribute to Michael Jackson.
Wow. I knew they were fans of each other but I never would have guessed that. I have walked this earth and watched people I can be sincere and say I like them you can't say no to hope can't say no to happiness I want to go on a mountain-top with a radio and good batteries and play a joyous tune and free the human race from suffering I'm no fucking Buddhist but this is enlightenment the less room you give me the more space I've got this is an alarm-call so wake-up wake-up now today has never happened and it doesn't frighten me

"Rumor" being the key word here. Maybe it is about MJ, but if you look at the lyrics in the booklet for Homogenic it appears that this song is a group of one-line self-affirmations that are directed towards the author. I can't seem to see the connection to MJ, but I can see where someone would want to give the poor guy a wake up call.

Maybe the music was inspired by Jacko... I don't see how the lyrics could be in "tribute" to him at all, except for in the first verse... I have walked this earth and watched people I can be sincere and say I like them Maybe that's about how Michael used to say that kids are so honest and that's why he relates to them more... Perhaps a situation with Michael inspired her to start the song... this has happened to me before. Like my song Naked: the baseline and melody came to me after work when I walked into the breakroom and a guy was changing into his uniform. He said "You almost saw me naked." And on the way home the music came to me and I titled the musical idea "Naked". Later I wrote a poem about myself and it fit with the music. So the song isn't about the little boy I might have seen naked, it's about me. Dig?
