madonna just gave me the best show of my life!!! ok, so its late and i'm incredibly dirty and salty from my own sweat. my boyfriend and i just danced our asses for an hour and a half at what we've decided was the best concert we've ever attended!! yes. i said it. its out there now...no taking it back. nor would i want to! i loved the setlist and i loved the way she performed the songs. madonna has surprised me with her ability to actually sound good live . the choreography was fantastic...and the dancers...oh. my. god. the dancers were not only phenomenal performers but they were some of the hottest men i've ever seen! very yummy!
the best part of the night, however, was not the performance, the dancers, the setlist, not even madonna herself. the most fabulous part of the show happened BEFORE the show even began! we had seats in section 319, row 8...this section was perpendicular to the screens which meant we would have a decent view of the stage, albeit high above (this was the top level of the arena) but we would not be able to see the imagery that every one has been speaking of. well, thanks to a tip from purplegypsy (she saw the show already in nyc), i was aware that the promoters would be giving away better seats to ticket holders in less than desirable locations. well, damn, try as i might we could not get lucky. i felt like the single kid on prom night! seconds before we were ready to throw in the towel i spotted a woman carrying a package and wearing many badges with a walkie talkie. perhaps this is the woman i needed to speak to? uh huh. sure was. and after approaching her with the eyes of an abused puppy she gave my boyfriend and i floor seats. but wait...they weren't just any floor seats...they were PIT SEATS!! these seats were IN THE STAGE!! oh my god, i thought i might faint! we took the elevator to our new floor level and were escorted into the pit. look, i was so close to madonna that i could see the tiny scar (a scar i never knew she had...i mean, why would i, really) on her right arm just by her shoulder ! it was just a great experience and i really think it was the best concert i've ever been to. i think i made her laugh because i was wearing a bright yellow t-shirt that, in black letters, says "madonna is my mother." she kind of squinted her eyes to look at it and then smiled at me. this time, unlike many other shows i've been to where an artist looks in my direction and i appease myself by believing they really were looking at me, there were only about 10 of us in there so i can be fairly certain she was looking right at me. corny, yeah, but still exciting! anyhow, i need some sleep. this bitch wore me out tonight! before i go to bed, though, i just want to say that in addition to the show and all this great shit, it was also way cool to get to hang out with endo and his man, d! i had a great time with you guys and i think we'll just have to do this again in august for the cure. though i doubt i'll be down from this high by then!! late nite spelling edit. i really thought i was going to lose my mind, lol! we are going to go back on wednesday and buy really cheap tickets from a desperate scalper for 200 or 300 level seats so we can see the show with the screens and everything. in the pit...and this is NOT a complaint, lol...you can't see most of the imagery and it would be nice to take in the whole visual trip. though, i did the bedtime story video and the trapeze artists were right above us...way crazy!!!
ok, for real now...i'm getting to bed, lol! 'nite!

I'm so happy you had an awesome time! I was supposed to see her on July 4th, and I was soooo excited, but I had pneumonia and wasn't able to go. A friend took my ticket and didn't even enjoy herself that much, so that makes me feel that much worse! Like, if I could give you my ticket, at least have a freakin' good time and appreciate it! I was so upset!
Oh well, gotta get over it! Hey, at least I have Prince in August.

Good night and I look froward to more comments/opinions from you tomorrow I wonder if GrayKing enjoyed the show?

ok...i just got back from the concert for the second time. i bought tickets from a scalper outside the venue for 40 bucks a pop. we were in the top level but fairly close to the stage. for those of you who care to look it up, it was section 334, row 1. they were actually really decent tickets. i only looked at the video screens to check out that hot little dancer with the tattoo on his right arm...mmmmm! i looked for the lady with the comp seats but i couldn't find her...its okay, i guess that was a once in a lifetime thing. plus, i really went the second time to see the show the way it was intended to be seen. and you what...i still think it was the best concert production i've ever seen. now, i've been to the velvet rope and all for you tours as well as the drowned world tour...all shows that had great production and choreography. this was more fun for me. i can't exactly say why...it just was. was it the fie juggling or skateboarding or choreography or that hot little dancer with the tattoo on his right arm (yep, i got it bad for him, lol)? i guess it was the whole thing. i loved the imagery, too. it really highlighted the theme of "nothing is what it seems". that opening bit was like a freaky horror movie! and the whole fetus thing with the skeleton...very eerie!
while i wouldn't pay 300 bucks for it...or any show for that matter...i would still say madonna earned her cash. i suppose if folks are willing to pay it, she may as well ask for it. my bets are that those who love her enough to pay the 300 ducats were very thrilled with the show. obviously they are hardcore fans and they definitely got their pay off with this tour! i did hear some folks saying they preferred drowned world, which really surprises me. that show, at least for me, was lacking something. maybe fun. i also heard people complaining about no encore. quite honestly, with a show like that...with the several video intermissions (and not to mention 21 songs performed)...who needs one. we all knew she was gonna end that shit with holiday so why make us clap and scream for 10 minutes before you sing it? anyhow, i had a blast the second time. a close friend of ours went with us and she really enjoyed it. she's not a huge madonna fan but she was still in awe over how great madge looked and how much of a fabulous entertainer she is. i need to save this post somewhere, though. this way, when madonna starts getting on my nerves again (like she does every just so often), i can look it up and recall why i love her so much.
