Lohan Signs With Casablanca Records



Actress Lindsay Lohan has signed a record deal with Tommy Mottola's Casablanca Records. "It's a long-term recording contract," says Universal Music Group spokesperson Peter LoFrumento. "Right now she needs to get into the studio and get down to work." No other details have been released.

Lohan, 18, is best known for her starring roles in "Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday" and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen." She has previously been heard as a vocalist on soundtracks for the latter two films.

As previously reported, Lohan also contributes a song to the soundtrack for "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement," due Aug. 3 via Walt Disney Records.

In other news, this is yet another sad day for music.

But a very happy day for fake breast lovers all over the world.

The thing is fans of Britney, Hillary Duff, etc. go out and buy the albums and support the artists at all time when they do anything commercially (come to the album signings, TV appearances, etc.) Not like I'm on the record company's side or anything, but they're into making money, first, not mindblowing, incredible music. The common thing people says is "if they make hot music, then people will buy it." Not necessarily true. This is the video age. You gotta have a hot video or look hot to make money nowadays. Not sure it will change anytime soon.
