George Michael

Wondering if anyone has heard George Michael's new CD, if so is it worth buying? I heard the new song and I really think it. Looking for feedback before I go and purchase it.

I love George Michael and his latest cd is pretty darn good. I wouldn't call it great, but it's very good. His voice is as amazing as ever and some of the lyrics are quite good too. There have been some negative comments on this site about his latest cd, but if you are a true fan, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

No. I would suggest burning it, but that's just my opinion.

I didn't like the singles, never heard the album.

I know I'm asking for trouble but I never found a George Michael song AMAZING. Believe me I tried to love his songs, but it aint working.still don't understand why he is so popular.

Speaking of "Amazing," that's the best song on his new album. The rest is just bored to me. I think he's been popular moreso because of his vocals...probably one of the most soulful white guys I've ever heard. His production used to be on point to, but lately, I think he's going for the techno folk-like sound. Maybe it's popular over in the UK, but not here. hmph!

By coincedence reading this thread I was listenign to this cd... I like the album very much, except for the singles Shoot the dog and Freeek!! ... To me it is just a nice George Michael album, and even better than Older!
I bought it without listening, and i'm certainly NOT dissapointed!!

my advice would be, if you like his albums before this one, you can just go and buy it! Coz you'll like it than...
the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

If "amazing" is the best song on the album i can't imagine the rest of it ill

The best song he did, to me is faith. even that was not outstanding disbelief

Don't bother buying any of his cd's then if Faith is what you consider to be his best song. It's far from it! IMO - Amazing is not the best song on the new cd either. There are many more better than that one.

That song sounds like it should be the themesong to "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"

Damn - I thought the exact same thing lol - it's the only song on the cd that I don't really like. I admit some of the songs are quiet and not overly exciting, but I love GM and his voice is very moving so I think I would like just about anything he sings.

i was fully expecting to go into full George Michael mode when his album came out, but it hasn't happened yet. i'm not all that impressed with "Amazing".... so maybe he'll pass me by this time around. not too worried about it....

Cars & Trains is my fave and I hope it's a future single. Some of the ballads are a little bland and he seems to have lost the knack for writing a good melody on his slower tunes but overall it's a good pop album.

And just in case anyone's interested he's just had his third U.K. top ten single from it with Flawless (Go To The City) which debuted at no.8. I actually thought it would've done better than that. shrug

His voice is great, he just needed some better written songs on this album. That, my-mothers-brother-whatever the hell song sucks, LOL. It's a nice listen, but a little too middle of the road compared to his other albums.
