BRITNEY Spears insists she's marrying for love, not money — and the pop tart is resisting pressure from her parents to force her fiance, dancer Kevin Federline, to sign a prenuptial agreement. Spears, worth $100 million, reportedly had to pay for her own $40,000, 5-carat engagement ring, and has put Federline on her permanent payroll as he has no money of his own. Spears' mother, Lynne, is said to be distraught over Spears' blind love. According to Star, her dad, Jamie, begged her to demand a prenup — to no avail. The couple, who have known each other a scant three months, have already bought a house on Mulholland Drive and are making wedding preparations for November. Sources told Star that Lynne is hurt because Spears told her assistant the good news about the engagement before she told her mother. Britney has shrieked at her mom, "This is my life, let me live it!" Under California law, if Spears and Federline marry without a prenup, he could get half her fortune should they divorce. Meanwhile, gawker.com adds Spears has been looking to sell her NoHo apartment, probably because Federline, a country boy, doesn't like the big city.

Britney Spears has reportedly enlisted a favour of her good friend Madonna to arrange a meeting with Chris Martin. Apparently Britney is dead set on having Coldplay sing their hit song "Yellow" for her wedding to Kevin Federline this November. According to U.K.'s Daily Star, "She's willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Money is no object."

if this is true, it may explain why Kevin's baby's mama backed away so gracefully. She may be aware how much her kids stands to gain when daddy gets paid...

After a review of the entertainment world the past few years, it appears that marriage is simply a PR move for many. Especially women in the industry. Marriage equals magazine covers, interviews, tv coverage, all at no cost financially. The price they pay in the long run for disrespecting the marriage arrangement is evident though.

Britney has the intelligence of old moldy cheese if she can't see the logic in a pre-nup, considering all the factors of her and Kevin's 3 month old 'relationship', but this whole thing to me just REEKS of Britney attempting to show to her mom, her record company, the world, her fans, to herself that she's "all grown up now" and can do whatever the hell she pleases. She wants control and to call all the shots now, which is understandable in a young woman her age and who has been in showbiz since she was a little kid. But Kevin's just a convenient patsy and shmuck she's using to make her point, and Britney herself is probably too dumb to realize that...

I'm sure Kevin is thrilled to become the next Mr. Spears ($$$) but Brit's in for a rude, rude awakening when he's served his purpose of being a living, breathing F-U to her mom/record company and she's bored of him and he's there waiting with his hand out for his half of her millions.
