Me'shell Ndegeocello NEW ALBUM

Hey y'all, since I know there are so many Me'shell fans on this site, I thought I'd post the latest info. that I swiped from the best Me'shell site on the web (in my opinion, and besides her own site, that is). The following was reported on http://www.bashirshakur.org/ (bashirshakur.org)

I've seen her perform this new material Live, and as always, she's off the CHAIN! I already emailed NPGMC with my request for her to be a performer at Paisley this June. Esp. with her album coming out then... I'm crossing my fingers!

100 days: Nearly a year following the day it was turned into Maverick as a completed work (July 30, 2001), a release date for Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape has been approved by Maverick/WBR and announced by Me'Shell's manager: June 4, 2002.

The first single, Pocketbook will be sent to clubs on March 22, and to radio April 23. The Rockwilder/Missy Misdemeanor Elliott remix of Pocketbook, which features rhymes by Redman, has already been put to video & should be put into rotation by MTV & BET sometime in late April, early May. The Ben Watt Lazy Dog remix of Earth has already been released to clubs.

Hey, I was there that night at Bimbo's in SF too.. she was annoyed with that woman in the crowd who said "I can't help it if I'm not black". She was totally missing Me'shell's message. Me'shell offered to have drinks with her later and discuss it with her. Me'shell is a bad ass MF. She is my favorite live performer next to Prince... you MUST pick up the new album. It's HOT.

Just wait till you hear it. It kicks ass. A friend of mine has a promo copy so that is how I've been able to hear it. I can't wait till it comes out.

Yes great news!!!! Looking forward to hearing this new recording. She also is planning to release a full-fledged jazz album. As an avid jazz fan, I'm really anticipating that recording!!!!

she'll probably have to wait to get from under maverick/wbr for that to happen.

according to several of the interviews in the "museum" at freemyheart.com, she's already recorded several full-length jazz albums...

"bitter" is a masterpiece, one of my favourite records of all time...the passion and emotion wrapped up in those records is incredible, her voice drips with sensuality

i haven't listened to a lot of her pre-bitter stuff, although from what i have heard i must say i prefer her bitter style to the more hip-hop inflected funk style

earth is a nice compromise, though

I didn't know she was so well known, but I did know that I loved 'fool of me' from the Love and Basketball soundtrack.

When I saw Me'shell in December of 2001 she said the album would be released March 12, 2002. I February I heard it would be April 2002. Now June 4! This better be the last and most definite date. Record companies are sickening! Fortunately, I will see Me'Shell live on May 19 so I can hear Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape again. I swear this is the funkiest album in years to hit the market (when it does come out). This is one for the collection so everyone pick it up.
