I'm off to the Erykah Badu show at First Avenue! I'm super excited. I'll give a report later!

Erykah was great at Paisley, but I was disappointed with her show at the State 6 months later.

You will have to let me/us know how this one was.

Just seen her in Denver on Tuesday and she was AMAZING!!! Tore the place up, can't wait to see her again and also for the new album.

well...how was it???

Alright, I'm probably the worst music reviewer in the world, but here goes...

We got to the show late and it was sold out. We actually ended up watching her reflection in the glass behind the DJ booth from the upstairs balcony cause we couldn't really get any closer and I didn't feel like fighting the crowd. A sad state of affairs when you've paid $40 to not see someone perform. But I had a great time anyway.

And that woman can SANG! I rarely, rarely use the vernacular, but that's the way I have to say it. In all honesty, I'm not a huge fan, so I couldn't even begin to give a set list. I only own 1 or 2 of her albums and I'm not even sure where they are right now. But WOW! She puts on a great show. Sassy, sexy and fun. Her talent is amazing to watch.

The crowd was fabulous! We were riveted, unified for the 2 hours she was on stage. It's so weird. I was at the sold out Interpol show at the Ave just a week and a half ago. And that crowd couldn't seem to care less what was going on on stage. It was so much more a place to see and be seen. Not this for Erykah Badu, oh no. We clapped, screamed danced and were merry.

It was a great show.

That's a cool review...glad you enjoyed it anyway. I really like Erykah Badu's vibe in her music, and am so relieved that you said that she can actually sing because I really dig her singing voice!

Fantastic. Simply amazing the woman is. She is so damn free...i just love her. She had the hairs on my arms standing up, once again, through just about the entire show.

I would love to see her and Jill Scott on the same bill. Lawd, I'd think I would lose my mind.

Is there any info on a new album yet? I've kind of worn her
other albums out by now and I never really did get all the
way into "Mama's Gun". I tried, but I keep falling asleep
during "Orange Moon"



Just kidding. She's absolutely great and I can't wait for
a new album.
