Dansa,I totally agree! The 'Purple Rain' tour is actually one of my least favorite Prince tours. It's all just so pretentious, gaudy and over-the-top.I mean, this show might have been cool in 1985,but whenever I watch that video these days,I can't help but cringe at some of the performances, outfits, etc. The mid-80s was a crazy time, wasn't it?

lol

it was a GREAT time...performers are so DULL these days in the way they look and dress and they have no presence! i miss those days
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

I can't really relate to the video. The show is kinda' embarrassing. It almost seems like it isn't Prince. It was such a different thing from all other albums and tours.A completely different animal. He had to feel a slight bit like a whore up there shuckin' and jivin' and preening for folks he knew wouldn't really be there for him. I have grwon to love the live cd,but not the video.Although, the "irresistable bitch/possessed" jam is the most on vid or cd. That really gets me going. It gives me chills for being one of the best Prince moments like the bare-all end portion of "the beautiful ones" or "housequake" on the sott film, the rrhof guitar solo,"dmsr" from The Avenue,or several others.

I love the 80s clothes and hair. Not just Prince but all the singers at that time. People have been copying 70s clothes and hair for some time now and I never like the 70s look. I wish they would start copying the 80s look again.
