Fave 12", cool:
-thieves in the Temple 12" extended, so cool the extended part is 3funky! -Gett Off - damn near 10 mins version, the main thing the one where all the other gett off's were made of. -She's always in my hair - a single choice in it's own rights! these r my faves but ofcourse almost all will do 'cept 4 the Cream NPG mix it's just 2 messy. Peace y'all "Time is a train, makes the future the past"

To me there is a massive difference between the pre '88 and post '88 mixes.
The pre '88 ones were great, especially the extended versions. But the post '88 ones have mostly been rubbish ! Some of the mixes of TMBGITW/Cream were good, but most of them add nothing new, or worse still, ruin a good perfectly good song with a crap "club" drum beat.

But don't forget the partyman 12" was in 89, which I loved. But what a year between fams. lol sorry but the double post

I especially love the "7 Minutes Mo' Quake" mix of Housequake and the 12" version of Hello. The 12" version of Alexa de Paris absolutely KILLS me as well.

Whoa! I can't believe somebody else (LaVisHh) put down "Gett Off" (Gangster Glam)! This is absolutely one of my all time favorite Prince SONGS (forget 'remix')! Yeah, I know it's dominated by Tony M. but I've always liked his voice. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

Gotta B "Gangster Glam" this tune just epitomises the summer 4 me, just chillin, out in the car, roof down, open roads, hot babe and the funkiest tune filling the airways.
Man that tune makes me horny all day long.

Did you know the Pop Life remix was mixed by Sheila E.She did a good job!

funkiest re-mix to me is the 'Let's Work' remix with the proverbial WORK IT.....WORK IT...,
I was only 12 at the time I bought it, but I was sure learning some things simply from listening to the urgency in Prince's voice==this man MEANT something! Rise up

Personally I would love to hear an "extended" version of "Digital Garden." "...literal people are scary, man literal people scare me out there trying to rid the world of its poetry while getting it wrong fundamentally down at the church of "look, it says right here, see!" - ani difranco

The acousic version of Space is far much better than the album version I agree with that Good Life remix bit. That shit is off the hook...Testicles 1,2...lol B4 I read this post though I was gonna say the Universal Love remix of space. The bass grinds my sould to a pulp and the lyrics are as universal as the title.

NIce thread!
I think the Cream Maxi is the best all around remix CD. Gett Off is a close second. I think I like the Hot Thing Hosue Remix because at the time, there wasn't a lot of House in the mainstream. My top favorite is the My Name is Prince House mix as somebody posted earlier. Very hard core bumpin' Worst remix maxi: hrmm...maybe Thieves in the Temple and maybe New Power Generation. Both of those kinda wanked. - cheers -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Man you said it! I took that tune to school to share with a buddy and he called it a "transitional song" evidently meaning that to "get it" you had to have experienced Prince after the Purple Rain era to enjoy Digital Garden. I often wonder what the "average" person even HEARS when they listen to Prince. I believe if a remix of Digital Garden was released on 12" vinyl (do they even do 12" anymore?) it would blow up, that song is FUNKY! But back to the thread... I'd have to say that the 12" off of Parade blew my mind away -- especially "KISS" and "LOVE OR $" La, la, la
He, he, hee! | |

Let's Go Crazy & America are both great in full length.
I also like the When Doves Cry (Bootleg Speed Garage Mix) but can appreciate this won't be to everyone's taste. Funkiest remix though - has to be Gett Off 12" - probably the last great Prince 12" I bought. Somehow CD's just don't have that same feel to them! subject Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.

The three most funkt up remixes in my opinion are:
Love or $ 12" La La La He He Hee 12" Violet the Organ Grinder The first two are hard ass funk jams, the last one isn't really that funky but has greatest lines and good vocal performance.
