'All The Critics Love You In New York' is a great track,
but it’s weak compared to the earlier live-version:
March 8th 1982, First Avenue (Moonraker's 'Dance 2 the Beat').

Dez really rules that night!

The peeps that don't like "all the critics love u in NY" are PROBABLY those that hate New Yawkers and NYC.

I LOVE NY!!

i love ny also but i always took that song to be an insult to nyc and its need for trends. it sounds, to me at least, like very sarcastic commentary on critics and the whole nyc scene.

I love Critics, although the 4th day of November, 1982 was a very painful day for me, and it hurts to be reminded.

As far as the album goes, it's Delirious that I could do without!

That is so spot-on. The slight change to the delivery of the chorus does it for me somehow.

Kind of like the live and rehearsal versions of "Something in the Water" around this time. The slowed down versions do in my opinion improve upon the album version

There’s a slight difference:
The “All the Critics” performance was before the album release (“this is a new song … probably won’t be out for another year or six”).
The “Something in the Water” performance is the 1984 birthday-gig … long after the album release.

But it’s indeed a very nice performance … though I doubt if it’s better than the studio version.

I love 1999,but when I think of the album the first songs that come to mind are "all the critics..","something in...",and "lcd".I throw 'moonbeam Levels" on there in my mind,as well.

It's one of his best songs. Now that's a track he should be doing live, especially when he's playing in New York. ATCLYINY has a great sound.
