you know when we are reading of princes indignation that this aint no comeback blah blah blah and alot of the music press make out hes taken the completly uncommercial route(which i ALWAYS tell people who ask where hes been )

lord knows how he would react if asked in an interview about the emanciaption comeback.....

the new power soul comeback(where he did ALOT of publicity).....

the new masters.....

the rave comeback.(for me the lowest point....trailing around the worst non high profile chatshows singing baby knows and tgres over and over and over ).....

the proposed HIGH comeback...prince gonna get you high etc..thank the lord that wasnt released!

so im guilty of pretending to alot of people that prince has been knocking out all these jazz gems etc and refusing to play the game etc when in reality the wee man has just unfairly ignored!

so keep quiet!! ....i like the image of the musical genius hermit balking at commerciality and hiding away releasing these gems with no publicity!!!!!

Yeah, totally. I wanted him to keep exploring the new sounds that he had discovered on Rainbow Children, and go all uncommercial and indie. But he just HAD to make a big comeback...

its a shame he didnt have a genuine comeback.....i really thought the rainbow children would have been a massive underground,word of mouth hit.....a bit like mobys play..

but where he could have a had a real massive album just on cuts alone....THE MIGHTY MIGHTY TRUTH.....

..man that makes me sad..that album NEEDS to be heard

and for me after going 2 see p live since 88..that tour was the best..THE VERY BEST.

Didn't hear about this particular comeback...but I did hear that this album was to be released. Looking at the track listing ...Vavoom / U Make My Sunshine / My Medallion / When Will We Be Paid? / Supercute / Underneath The Cream / Golden Parachute / The Daisy Chain / Gamillah / High / When Eye Lay My Hands On U...doesn't seem to be shit...not exactly strong...considering the other songs to be eventually released might have fit better. Quite a few of those are very good.

I agree with you. I think this could have been a great stand alone album if it were marketed properly. With NPG in charge it would've gone down the drain like the other releases, but with the right major backing this ... like Blue Note ... Welcome to the Dawn, One of Your Tears, Circle of Amour could have been hits.

I was down for th "Rave comeback"...
