One of them's better (In2).

Here are the tracklists and the differences therein:

Rave UN2:

1) Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic
2) Undisputed
3) The Greatest Romance Ever Sold
4) Hot Wit U
5) Tangerine
6) So Far, So Pleased
7) The Sun, The Moon And Stars
8) Everyday Is A Winding Road
9) Man'O'War
10) Baby Knows
11) I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore
12) Silly Game
13) Strange But True
14) Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do
15) Prettyman

Rave IN2:

1) Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic (faster, more techno beat than the original, many differences throughout)
2) Undisputed (the Moneyapolis Mix - better than the original)
3) The Greatest Romance Ever Sold Remix with Eve. Better than the original.
4) Hot Wit U (Nasty Girl Remix) A shit song made pretty good.
5) Tangerine Nicer as it is longer than the original.
6) So Far, So Pleased Same as the original
7) The Sun, The Moon And Stars Same as the original.
8) Man'O'War (Remix...no better than the original)
9) Baby Knows extended...but not more interesting than the original
10) I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore - beautiful, but same as the original.
11) Beautiful Strange nice track, replaces Strange But True from the original.
12) Silly Game Sadly, this is the same version as the original.
13) Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do Ditto.
14) Prettyman extended Maceo solo. Nice.

Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic is better, and it was absolutely one of Prince's last great CDs. TRC and Mucicology don't have the same heart or the feeling in them.

I happen to think the Rave In2 is better. Songs like Undisputed and Hot wit U are actually listenable. Beautiful strange is great as well. And better packaging. If you have gotten neither, I recommentd the remix album. But in all honesty, not one of his best...very uneven and the duets/collabs just don't mix too well.

One is a desperate attempt at heavy rotation during a dark period in his life.

The other isn't quite what I'd call a mix album as only a few of the songs are remixes in the traditional sense. Some are completly different renditions, others are extensions, and at least one song doesn't appear on Un2.

Both basically suck donkey d@cks.
They where just so lifeless, so lacking in sould, so void of charisma...so much like a Madonna album.

LOL. Yes, She almost released a b-side from her True Blue album in homage to him. I believe it was called La Isla Vagina.

Was that a precursor to Get Into the Vagina?

I prefer the original title 'Rave 2 the joy fantastic' (as you can actually hear in the freakin' song!). It's punchier and more concise. I think maybe to differentiate between the original '88-89 version with it's Warner-B connections.
