Haven't listened to it in over two months, and doubt that I'll be reaching for it any time soon.

I havent listened to the album for over a month either , I've now slipped it into rotiation
with the rest of his official albums ,which means I'll listen to it again maybe next month sometime and then every 3rd month I guess , hes made so much good music I dont feel the need to listen and re-listen to Musicology until I "get it" , its an ok album which I'll revisit now and again , I've not dismissed it or fallen for it ,its just sorta "there" in my collection Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

Nope, I'm not bored with it at all. In fact, I listened to it yesterday and was once again reminded how great the last 6 songs are. It's a shame that so many of you are bored with this cd already. I'm not bored with any of my Prince cd's and I've had some for over 20 years.

I find myself listening to The Slaughterhouse/Chocolate Invasion quite a bit here lately, even BEFORE Musicology. It's a good album, but not spectacular. I made my sister listen to it in the car, to my chagrin, she LIKED what she heard. But I'm so weird, you know, I seem to like TS and CI more...

Nope....a little burned out from overplaying it is all. Still his best in a decade, and still in my top half of my 10 favorite albums of the year (though I never thought I'd be ranking Loretta Lynn above him!)

I'm a bit bored, yes. Maybe because of overplaying, maybe because although it is a consistent album, it is not a very exciting one. It's a nice listen but there are no real standout tracks, except for A Million Days maybe.
I miss the innovation. It would be nice if he started doing an updated version of the oldschool "Minneapolis Funk", with lots of synths and drummachines. Maybe with beats by today's top hiphop and dance musicians? Or record an album with his current band and the Clare Fischer Orchestra, that would be true "Musicology"! I think this album was a great way to reattract the "causual Prince fan" with its lite, non-complicated songs
Im still listening to it and loving it as well If you will, so will I

Not me....IMO this is his best "Pop" album since Batman. I rarely hit the skip button on Musicology.

Still giving it a spin just about everyday.Depending on my mood,I'll listen to certain songs from the disc...ICP&C and The Marrying Kind getting the least amount of play.
On the whole,I enjoy the disc very much. The songs aren't overdone, but flavored with nice little musical bits here and there. They have a somewhat simplified tone to them, like the title track. On The Couch and Reflection are understated soulful gems while Call My Name and A Million Days visit a more urgent and pleading tone. WDUWM2D being one of my favorites on the disc for it's relaxed, funky and jazzy feel. It's not the uncompromising vision of Rainbow Children or News, but more like a musical landscape of color by numbers.

Yes.
There are albums by other artists that are a decade old that I still listen to on a regular basis. This won't be one of them. I like it, but for all the hype about real musicians blah blah blah, it doesn't rise to the level of what you'd expect. I think it was purposely not challenging because that is how pathetic the music industry has become. I turn to music for inspiration. This isn't inspired. So many artists out there are creating music that is challenging, innovative, fresh and unique. Prince is absolutely capable, don't know why he doesn't. I want Prince to release an album that scares the shit out of me, not because of how safe it is but becuase it's dangerous. I wanna be scared!!!! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I'm honestly surprised at how much people love What Do You Want Me to Do. I HATE THAT FUCKIN SONG! I honestly cannot stand it. The way people praise that song, you'd think it was the missing B side from the Sign O' The Times session. The Linn Drumm seduces people into wanting to believe it's a good song, it's boring and plain. Not deserving to be on this album. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
