Any part of a song that contains Tony M! He quite simply is the WORST thing that EVER happened to The New Power Generation!

Speaking of Tony M, here's an interesting little story about him... I remember being at the Sacrifice of Victor aftershow at Bagley's Warehouse in London 1993. He came on to do some stupid song and when Prince commanded 'On the 1' at the end the song and move on to somethin' else he ignored Prince and continued to (c)rap... Sonny, Levi, Tommy and co just looked on in disbelief!!! Needless to say Prince was not amused and got rid of him for the rest of the show. Funny... I don't recall him being in the band after that!

In the first issue of the NPG Magazine (summer 1994),there is an interview with Tony, where he discussed plans for a solo CD.He said "You know, the average Prince fan don't care about rap,and the average rap fan don't care about Prince".He sounded real defensive in that article.

Serious? Man, "Thieves In The Temple" 12" Mix is such a cool song.

Can't say I've ever been embarassed by any Prince song myself.

Altho, when The Most Beautiful Girl came out, I was kinda embarassed since all that people knew about Prince at that time seemed 2 be that one song. And they all kept asking "So, U like Prince? That "Beautiful" song is so horrible".

And they were right. If he'd released a kick ass single after that, it would've been fine. But now, the only thing people remembered 4 several years was that awful sappy song. It's actually one of the very few songs that I can't stand.

Altho, the mustang mix is kinda cool.

Easily 'The Sun Moons Stars'.
That west Indian accent makes me squirm everytime I hear him try it. I can't help but forward that bit.

Definitely '3 Chains Of Gold', makes Bohemian Rhapsody worth listening to every time now.
I'll probably have a couple little sexies on the stand-by, and we don't want to upset them, do we? So you just glide by me and say...what?

That's why he's a great artist and we're not. He takes chances. It's the only way to be the best one can be. That's why I grew to love songs that initially embarrassed the hell out of me-- songs like Walk don't Walk, Horny Toad, Right the Wrong, I love U in Me, and God. They're not necessarily ground-breaking or anything but they're different from what we're used to hearing from him.
His most embarrasing songs to me are the overproduced crap like The Greatest Romance and the album version of TMBGITW. You can add the lazy, uninspired numbers like Jughead and the title song on NPS. These are the songs I tend to skip.
By the way, Wedding Feast for the last time should not be put on these lists because it is not and was not intended to be a song as evidenced by a)it's length and b) it's context within the storyline of TRC.

Well, I don't think I've been embarrassed about humming a song, but there are definitely those songs that if anyone is with me, I race to the CD player to hit skip. First and foremost has to be Come. Even when I am alone, all that slurping makes me BLUSH, redface !

It's funny how Rave is widely considered his worst album, yet very few people are listing Rave tracks in their choices. That album is so under-rated... I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore, Silly Game, The Greatest Romance, Tangerine... all great tracks!

The most embarassing are...
I Hate U - a very apt title for such a dire track, the courtroom bit makes me cringe everytime!
Blue Light - WTF was he thinking?! It sounds like something Pato Banton should've recorded.
The majority of TRC. It's all so non-distinct I can barely remember the tracks.
Lets Go Crazy - okay, I don't mind this one, but the lyrics sound like he was stoned when he wrote them, and melodically it's hardly great.
All of Grafitti Bridge. Most of D&P (minus Thunder and Walk Don't Walk!).

Why are people mentioning the following:

Courtin Time, Thunder, Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, My Name Is Prince and Gold? These are superb tracks.

There's probably more than this but here's some, especially when you've got kids in the house or car. I won't play these for my own parents, and they're not even religious. Either skip them or turn them way way down. I listen to these alone/secretly or on low volume like folks used to sneak and listen to the old nasty standup comedy records of Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor.

Hmm..every non-prince fan Ive ever talked 2 loved TMBGITW. That song was what turned me on 2 Prince. Without that song he wouldnt have as many fans my age as he does!!
TMBGITW has some of the most beautiful lyrics EVER written in my opinion.
