This album is a steady seller averaging 63k copies /week for 10 weeks

Remeber Rave came out and it only did 87k in first week and then fell off

Have any of the gripers ever thought that maybe the actual retail sales are low because people are waiting to get their copy when they go to the concert. Why assume that the concert goers weren't going to buy the retail copy if it was not included in the cost of the ticket.. confused

I can see both sides of the debate. Personally I think it is brilliant. A great marketing scheme, an end run around the record industry. And with or without the concert numbers the album has been doing great! That said I "bought" six copies of Musicolgy that have been counted as Soundscan sales! That's the most copies of any Prince album I've ever bought!
