He should steer clear of them. In concert, fine. He's really good at them in a live setting. he hasn't done a good studio cover IMO.

This list could go forever. But I'd have to say Imagine. What's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old

Performed during 1993 . I've heard something to that effect. What boot is it on, if any? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Apparently: 'Santiago' - August 17, 1993, Monte del Gozo, Santiago de Compostela Definitely: 'Act Deux Paris 1993' - September 1, 1993, Palais Omnisport de Bercy, Paris - piano section after 'Delirious', the melody is played before segueing into 'Little Red Corvette'. . I always thought the horns, drums, and overall 'ska-ness' of The Glamorous Life would suit No Doubt. Okay, stone me now. As for P, I think he should cover Randy Newman's Short People. I read an interview with Prince earlier this year where he said he'd like to shoot people in the head who do cover versions, so I will say that I don't want him to do any cover versions at all because I don't want him shooting himself in the head (even though he's already recorded his own fair share of cover songs over the past decade).

Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into those. L-Bleu's always kickin' the k'nowledge, and it's much appreciated. some times cover songs are great. tina turners "proud mary" of ccr is one. would be a shame if she never did that song. elton john's "lucy in the sky with diamonds is another. I also like terrance trent d'rabys "what a wondrful world" too. granted there has been some very bad cover song (especailly from todays music scene) ataris "boys of summer" is just so bad. I do like princes "one of us" better than joan osbourne.

There's only one cover song that I would like to see Prince do.
-Voodoo Child (SlightReturn) Actually, it would be just awsome to him him play this at a small club/aftershow. -"If U don't like,
what U see here -get the FUNK out."

Play That Funky Music (Tan Man) ~ Wild Cherry Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

But he could never do this song now - hell, he can't even sing The Cross without changing up all the words! Anyway, it would be a tough change of gear to pull off after singing about a "theocratic order" and "accurate knowledge of Christ and the Father"! Not sure whether Prince's "imagination" could still accommodate this song..... Or even worse, he could change it: "Imagine you're in heaven, It's easy if you pray, Just read the New Translation, You might get there someday....." Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhh!!!! "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin
