I remember I had the album and would just keep putting the needle back on that song time after time.

I think I was just getting into Prince big time around 93, when I was in high school, so I would say I was heavily into the B-Sides from the Hits/B-Sides set...so Shockadelica, Escape, Irresistable Bitch, Another Lonely Christmas, How Come You Don't Call Me... all that good stuff!

Hmmmm....it usually changed with the new album. I remember really getting "The Morning Papers" my senior year.

I can't help it...the entire Purple Rain album was my mantra in high school, at least until Parade came out and changed the game altogether. Don't get me wrong, I love and adore ATWIAD, but for the first two years of its release, Purple Rain was MY album. I lived in a little redneck Indiana town where it wasn't considered "cool" to like Prince - it was either stoner metal or country music, no exceptions - so Purple Rain was something that was special and personal to me as a kid - I couldn't understand the kids at my school, and so I loved it that they couldn't understand the music I listened to. And listen to it I did - I remember during those two years, I made a POINT of MAKING SURE I'd listened to Purple Rain AT LEAST once a day, every day, no matter what was going on or where I was. I wasn't messin around!!

The Morning Papers was really special to me in high school too. Actually, the whole album was special. The Gold Experience, too. Those were the only two albums I had until late high school. Sweet Baby, The Morning Papers, and Billy Jack Bitch really meant something to me then and they still do. When I got some more albums in 11th and 12th grade, Ana Stesia, When 2 R In Love, Dance On and Free really meant something too. I don't think I had any other albums at the time, so I didn't know any other songs yet. I sure wish I'd known about Be My Mirror then, because that would have had the most meaning to me. Actually my high school years are the reason it has so much meaning now that I know about it. All the songs about sex on the above mentioned albums had some major impact on my... interesting... beginnings at a sex life. I remember playing International Lover every night before I went to bed. I'd get so horny and I'd have the most fun dreams...

come to think of it..alot of my most memorable moments that involve prince..include to the 2 of them. i may have just made some kind of realization. what? im not exaclty sure.....but something.

"Erotic City" was THE JAM of my senior year. I will never forget the DJs mixing it with "White Horse". That was a hell of a mix.

to be honest.....none. I'm still in highschool and the song that means the most was out before I was even born

I'm sorta in the same boat,except during my highschool years(recently),my least fav. Prince cds/songs were out. Slim Pickings...IMO

I started high school in '83, so I would have to say the whole 1999 album. That was the first album I had ever bought. I had actually been listening to P since the Prince album, but 1999 took me over the edge. I would literally be in a state of depression when I couldn't get tickets to his concerts. I did eventually make it to one of the concerts during that tour.

The poster that was included in the album, the one where he is in the bed naked with only a sheet partially covering his tush....OMG that had to be the first time I was in lust.. I played that album from beginning to end, but my favorites were LRC(album version and extended version), DMSR, LCD, International Lover, A-U-T-O-matic and All The Critics Love You In New York.

Anna Stesia That, along with the whole Lovesexy CD pretty much saved my life in High School. I know that may sound melodramatic, but hey...High School IS pretty melodramatic.

I started high school in 1991. Prince got me through a whole lotta crap back then, so if I had to pick one song that got me through it all, it would be 'Venus De Milo'. After a bad day I would come home and play that over and over.

I started high school fall of '84 and everyone was into Prince.

By the time spring rolled around, EVERYONE jumped ship, all thanks to Around The World In A Day. That's the album that hooked me.

"Condition Of The Heart" is one of my all time favorite Prince ditties. From the sparse piano chords that start it, all the way to the fading heartbeats at the end. I love that song. And, of course, everytime I had a mad crush on a girl, this song was the song I played.

By my senior year, though, Sign o' the Times hit, and my song was "Adore," hands down.

My Sr. year of HS was 1984-85 so Purple Rain meant the most to me. I listened to it everyday on the way to and from school.

Oh, I would have to say Housequake, IT, U Got The Look and It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night during the first half of my senior year, then Alphabet Street and This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip B-12 inch, and Glam Slam / Escape during the spring season of my senior year.

I really got into Glam Slam / Escape, and I loved the 12 inches and 45s Warner Bros. released -- with the clear covers and just a plastic sticker with some titling. I even have a Glam Slam / Escape cassette single in all clear plastic. I wore that "cassingle" out during the summer of 1988 at the beach.

The funniest moment was seeing the words "Grand Slam" instead of "Glam Slam" in the 12-inch section of my local record store in the mall. Those were the good old days -- Prince was and still is way over the heads of a lotta music lovers. Yes, now, it seems, some are getting into him more and experiencing the wealth he has in past works.

Anyone from Cleveland remember Newberry's at The Great Lakes Mall? They had a great record store called Record Revolution and they were the first ones to dabble in the "imports section."

I guess if I had to narrow it down, it would have to be "Tamborine" & "America". My cousin and I were in a lipsync group. We had a man named John Davis who performed as Prince, I was Lisa (wanted to be Wendy but my cousins a bitch), she was Wendy. We practiced every day after school so we could be in a competition at school. We performed (danced ) to Tamborine and won that round. Then we did America, came in 2nd place overall. There is a video of that floating around some where, it would be nice to see it again to look back and laugh. After performing for the school and doing so well, we performed at a local dance club. We were so into Prince back then. That was about 13 yrs ago, my cousin won't even admit that she ever liked Prince now. I do not know what happened to John, he was a few years older than us. He was a great person, a great writer also. He was pretty cool for being a black male willing to lipsync with 2 white girls back in the day. I can still listen to those songs and remember some of our routine.

Well I started high school in 1999 and I remember buying Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic and it was my first "official" Prince cd (that wasnt my moms), so that ones pretty special to me and it lead me to get all his other music which has become a big part of my life.
But Rave will always hold a special place in my heart.

Adore, (107.5) wbls use to play in on the sunday slow jams ( love songs) weekly.
And of course Sign 'o' the times and If I was ur girlfriend.
