Ask me again at the end of this month and I'll tell ya ten shows. For now, however, it's just six. nuts

My top three?

1. Champaign, Illinois - Musicology Tour, 2004. Y'all know why (and then again, maybe ya don't)

2. Indianapolis, Indiana - Purple Rain Tour, 1985. Cuz the first time is the greatest...or at least, it's the SECOND greatest. smile

3. Jones Beach - Jam Of The Year Tour, 1997. I'll never forget Prince making his entrance playing guitar on the back of a speedboat. HOTT. eek

Hit and Run Tour - December 2000 @ The Aladdin in Vegas
Hit and Run Tour - May 2001 @ The Palladium in Hollywood
One Nite Alone Tour - April 2002 @ The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood
Valentine's Show - February 2004 @ The Fillmore in San Francisco
Musicology Tour - March 2004 @ Staples Center in LA
Musicology Aftershow - June 2004 @ House of Blues in LA

I'm sorry.....I can't pick which is the best! The one in Vegas was extremely awesome #1 cuz it was my first time seeing the man after over 20 years of listening to and loving his music and #2 cuz I went there with no tix and after a VERY long day and a few major mishaps, my 2 friends and I were let into the show FOR FREE by the Aladdin Event Coordinator!!! eyepop

Just like BlueEyedAngel, I've seen him well over 100 times, and I wouldn't doubt if it's hitting around 200 shows, counting all of the shows at Paisley and Glam Slam. There is no question that the Musicology shows are the best concerts, and Mill City absolutly kicked back side. There was one show out at Paisley right before... I think it was the hit and run tour kicked off where he didn't sing for the entire show. It was like a Madhouse performance that blew all of our minds. It seemed like Prince and Rhonda were making love with their guitar and base that night, and when one of the songs/jams ended after around 20 minutes, I looked at a friend I was with and we both said that song could have gone on 'til next tuesday and we'd still be movin' our heads. That was a fantastic show.
What's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old

Pretty much if you attended any of the SoCal shows, I was there (and I'm not bragging...actually it is probably a cry for help).

But yeah, I nearly soiled myself when Wendy walked onto the stage at HOB. I NEVER thought I would see that. To hear Prince performing "Girls and Boys" with Wendy backing him up on guitar... eyepop

Whereabouts in the HOB were you? I was two or three people from the first "row" of the very far left-hand side of the stage (if you're facing the stage). It was cool because he spent a lot of time on that side of the stage. If I'd been quicker and not so awestruck, I might have got a pit of pantleg when he did his stage dive. biggrin

Pretty much right in the middle of the VERY HOT CHAOS! About 7-8 rows of peeps up from the sound mixers. Yes, the left hand side of the stage was gettin tons of close-ups of Prince's naughty little smiles he kept flashing! He did go over there alot, either to play his guitar or to just dance around. Lucky 4 u!! I bet he coulda done that stage dive on top of just one person he's so damn light!!!!!

I've been a Prince fan from way back in the day but have only been to two of his concerts because he has hardly ever come here to Mississippi.

Rick James and Prince (1980) (MS):
Did not attend. I was in the 7th grade and had to depend on family to take me. I begged and threw a tantrum when I couldn't go.

Purple Rain (1985) (New Orleans):
Did not attend. The morning of the concert there was a major snow storm in MS and the interstates were closed. It never snows in MS but dammitt it snowed that day!

Jam Of The Year (1997) (MS):
ATTENDED, finally dammitt! Prince's first return to MS since 1980. The show was great!

Musicology (2004) (Bossier City, LA):
ATTENDED. Drank all day before the concert, went to the show, had a hell of a time!

They show I really hate I missed was the Rick James and Prince Tour. Rick James is my second favorite artist and the two of them on the same show would have been great! I'll never get that chance again because the two of them became enemies on that tour.
Andy is a four letter word.

I've seen Prince 5 times:
1987 Sign O' The Times (x2)
1988 Lovesexy
1990 Nude
2002 ONA

I begged my parents if I could please go to the Parade Tour in 1986 but they wouldn't let me. Of all my schoolfriends only one girl was allowed to go and I remember that we were all sitting around her and soaking up her stories. I still regret not being allowed to go because I just love the Parade tour so much! neutral

SOTT in 1987 was actually the first concert I ever saw and I was just blown away! The second time I went, it was with my parents who heard that it was awesome from their friends. But they didn't like it at all, they were the only people sitting in a crowd of 10.000 cheering people, LOL! To make it even worse, during "Forever in my life" my dad (who was a severe christian at that time) was convinced Prince was singing "The devil in my life"! lol I had a hard time convincing him it was a love song about settling down...

Lovesexy was excellent, we were waiting in front of the stadium from 12 o'clock in the afternoon with loads and loads of fans. The weather was excellent and we had a great time waiting and talking to other fans. We managed to get to the front of the stage and the show was fantastic. A great concert experience!

Nude sucked, I had bought very lousy tickets so we couldn't see a thing. On our way in they were selling floor tickets for 10 euro or something, but we didn't take any extra money so we couldn't buy them. The videoscreen above the stage was the size of a stamp from where we were sitting, and ten minutes after the show started my friend asked me if this was a videoclip, he hadn't even noticed that the concert had already started! To make things even worse it started to rain and it was very windy, so the sound was constantly "blown away". I had my brand new and not impregnated suede jacket on, so that one was totally ruined after the concert. Conditions got so bad that after 50 minutes the show was cancelled because of the danger of electric shocks. And we didn't get tickets for a replacement show, so people were mad disappointed. Sucky experience...

After that experience I went to the Diamond & Pearls tour without any tickets, because I thought they would be selling them in front of the arena again for cheap prizes. But when we got there the price they asked was 75 euro, way more expensive than the actual ticket price. Even 45 minutes after the concert started the scalpers still didn't want to lower the price. When one of them told me "to go home and play a Prince CD" if I didn't want to pay their price, I left, totally disappointed in mankind. Bloody scalpers!

After that my interest in Prince was lost for many years but after TRC I was back at the Prince front, so I decided to go to the ONA tour. I got in contact with a NPGMC member here at the Org who had one ticket available for me. It was a great experience, i just loved the concert although it was a little preachy at times. But his band was (is!) very tight, so that made up for all the preachiness.
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
