Food & Prince - Be Honest

Come on, be honest.
Don't U think every once in a while, I mean, when our boy ain't feeling so self-disciplined, he sneaks a couple of bites of cheesecake or heads on down to the local steak 'n' shake for a quick burger?

i suspect he's fallen just a TOUCH off the wagon since his whole vegan thing, but he has said in interviews this year that he's vegetarian, so maybe he's at least holding on to the tailgate still...

I don´t know what kind of diet he´s up to these days but I can assure you he was still a hardcore vegetarian in 2002 , during the Xenophobia celebration.
I spend 4th of July with a good friend of mine at Morris Hayes place and he told me so because we were having a barbecue and I made an exception that day ( man, my first 4th of July in the states). I´m pretty disciplined when it comes to being a vegetarian, but I don´t really like to upset good friends or my aunt when I visit her once in a blue moon..Buddhists believe it´s OK to accept food that you´re being offered ( though I´m not Buddhist).
Someone on the org mentioned that P mentioned that he´s on some diet called the MAKER`S DIET, which is a strange diet invented by some fake doctor, based on Biblical eating habits and supposedly including meat but maybe he just skips the meat or it was just a misunderstanding. Didn´t he eat pasta with cream sauce during the RS interview ?? Maybe it was vegan cream sauce or he is ovo-lacto vegetarian these days ( would explain the egg reference on the Musicology album)...
Anyway, he looks terrifyingly young and healthy, I´m really curious about his workout routine, diet , sleeping habits etc.
This would be a good book I guess..but I´m not really buying that "2-3 hours of sleep" thing, it is possible and I also only sleep 4-5 hours most of the time but I can FEEL that more sleep does in fact restore and regenerate your system and helps you to repair cells and get rid of toxins, so 2-3 hours are possible, but, looking at Prince´s skin and hair, highly unlikely.
I also wonder about possible supplements.
That book he recommended in 1995 ( Cleanse and Purify Thyself by Richard Anderson ) was about some colon cleansing methods !!! I was a bit surprised about that .

No way. As little as he is-there's no way he's eating any meat. Even his teeny tiny little pants at the aftershow were baggy. Chance needs to slide that brotha one of his sandwiches, for real.

Anxiety

Ya know, when you've been a vegetarian long enough, meat just ceases to be a temptation. For all intents and purposes, it becomes "something that other people eat".

If Prince is really disciplined and principled about being a vegetarian, he could easily just plain lose the "taste" for steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, etc., within a couple of years. If you watch what you're doing and take decent care of yourself, it's really not a difficult habit to fall into...I don't even think of myself as "vegetarian" most of the time, unless I'm having dinner with friends and they remind me of it.

If I can go off on a related tangent, there are two important things to remember about doing the veggie diet (well, more than two, I'm sure...but two things that have been on my mind lately):

1. THERE IS LOTS OF PROTEIN IN A LOT OF VEGETABLES. The whole "vegetarian diet lacks protein" argument is a myth. Believe that.

2. TAKE YER VITAMIN B-12!!! In almost 16 years of being a veggie, I never heeded this advice. Over the past couple of weeks, I finally broke down and gave it a try, and WOW. Quite the difference in my energy and stress levels. Not a cure-all, but a noticeablely positive supplement. Go to any health food or vitamin store and ask for a supplement for veggies, and they'll tell ya B-12 is the way to go.

If you need a primer to vegetarian nutrition, read John Robbins' DIET FOR A NEW AMERICA. This book goes into great detail about the nutrients found in fruits and vegetables, and how when someone gives up meat, they don't need to give up any necessary vitamins or minerals.

Geez, listen to me, talkin' like a nutritionist an' stuff...now I want a cigarette.

nod I've been vegetarian since 1985. I couldn't eat meat now if I wanted to. I certainly don't miss it, and my karma's all good baby.

No, I don´t fish and chicken, and cool down, I don´t care if I "SELLOUT" in any way, I´m not out to live my life according to your standards and principles. I don´t let any organization or person dictate my eating habits and morals.
No need to shout, and also no need to preach or lecture people...I have my own, very personal reasons for doing the things I choose to do and eating the things I want to eat. Í´ve stopped eating animals since 1999 because of a documentary I saw back then but I would never say that I don´t like the taste, texture and smell of certain meat products or meals or the smell of a bbq ...I know some vegetarians feel like they really don´t have a craving or appetite for meat anymore, and maybe that´s the case with them but I still love the taste of certain meals, especially when you travel to lots of different countries and you either can´t find any decent vegetarian food or you´re simply too curious about some specialties you´ve never eaten before. I´m just saying this as an example, it´s not that I go out and eat meat on a regular basis when I´m traveling. It´s more of a cultural curiousity than appetite, just hunger for experience, not

(continued...).....not to be controlled by a dogma but more so by my own responsibility and way to look at life . The main thing to me is your responsibilty and your reason(s) for doing the things you do in life. A good friend of mine was totally vegan for many years, has family now and is eating meat again, and it wouldn´t even come into my head to consider him a sellout. This is a very complex issue to discuss on this thread I guess.I don´t feel like getting into a heated debate , this is not the Politics and Religion forum.

Article in an Australian magazine said that he now only eats food that is white. Mashed potatoes, fish etc.

What? ?????
I eat nothing but meat. You see, plants don't have arms and legs, so they can't fight and run away. At least an animal has a fighting chance.
