I'm talking about the Art Of Noise version. Love it. LOVE IT. (the extended version has the HOOOAAAH from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, which makes it even cooler, again, in MY opinion).

naww...the beautiful ones..first of all, it sounds slow as hell, like at half speed, which makes it only seem longer anyway..then when sissyco tries to be Wanya from Boyz II Men and start screeching and whining...it's relentless...dooo you wannnnnt himmmmm..orrrr dooooo youuuuu wannnnnt meeeee...i'm like geez, shut the fuck already

Sinead O'Connor's version of Nothing Compares 2 U. In my honest opinion, she ruined that song and it hurts me to hear it. I find it really disappointing when I meet people who've only heard her version and they think SHE wrote it. And when they find out there's a Prince version they think he redid it and that he did a bad job because it doesn't sound like "the original". I hate that, and I hate the way she ruined the song. Sorry to all I've insulted.

i totally agree wit u...just listened 2 it and o man..what was prince thinkin when he allowed them 2 do that..or was it even his decision?

I WENT BACK A LISTEN TO ALICIA KEYS VERSION OF THAT SONG AGAIN. THE ORIGINAL HAS MUCH MORE EMOTION IN IT(I KNOW CONSIDERING THE SOURCE). ALICIA'S VERSION TO ME IS TOO "TRACKED" FOR SOMEONE WHO IS A CLASSICALLY TRAINED PIANIST. IT'S SEEMS RUSHED, TWO-DIMENSIONAL AND FLAT. EVEN STEPHANIE MILLS TOOK HER TIME TO GET YOU TO FEEL THE SONG.
