Sinead O'Connor's version of Nothing Compares 2 U. In my honest opinion, she ruined that song and it hurts me to hear it. I find it really disappointing when I meet people who've only heard her version and they think SHE wrote it. And when they find out there's a Prince version they think he redid it and that he did a bad job because it doesn't sound like "the original". I hate that, and I hate the way she ruined the song. Sorry to all I've insulted.

I think the WTF?!?! award goes to Dale Bozzio's midlife-crisis aerobics instructor remake of "I Would Die 4 U" from the nightmarish "Party O the Times" tribute compilation.

I think the award goes to Dollar for doing a version of Kiss, they actually even change one of the lines in the song, its sooooo bad this cover, that it makes you laugh and cry at the same time.
If ur gonna do it, do it right and with respect to the artist.

No no no...the absolute WORST prince cover ever is LeAnn Rimes' take on 'Purple Rain.' Oh man, that was bad. I mean reall really REALLY bad. And not just 'cause I like Prince or Purple Rain...it was just one of the worst pieces of recorded sound EVER. Check it out at your own risk...

Don't hate me, but I like Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares To U" more than P's. She puts an emotional punch to it that Prince somehow lacked. I'm not putting the man down...its just a preference.
I also agree with Tom Jones' version of "Kiss". It sucks on ice.

Just to make sure I wasn't overreacting, I listened to Sinead's version one more time just now. It's not THAT bad, but I think Prince's version is so nice. Apparently that's not the majority opinion, but I really really like it, and the fact that Sinead changed it at all just makes me mad. That's just me, though.
I've never heard the Family's version. I guess I should look for it.

Damn that guy must be amazing live, cos' there are a lot of people who throw panties to him. I can't speak for the live version...but the studio remake that Jones did that I thought was awful.
