I see that lose your self from 8 mile made the list (actually broke the top 20) did any songs from Purple Rain make it? "WHen DOves cry" "Purple Rain" are much better songs. I wouldnt have a problem if that eminem song didnt land so high on the lame list.

I just checked the list for nominees on AFI's website and out of the 400, Prince is on the list once and it's "Let's Go Crazy" from Purple Rain of course. I was a bit surprised cause I surely thought that the song "Purple Rain" would be on the list.

Lose Yourself is brilliant, especially in the context of the film, far moreso than Let's Go Crazy in Purple Rain
