Batdance Video Friday I went to the show in St. Paul with my son, had a great time, got home at about 11:30 and put him to bed. My wife was out with friends so I made a drink and sat down to watch some TV and wait for her. I was flipping around the channels and someone was introducing the Batdace video!! I'm not sure what channel it was even on! We only get very basic cable for reception but get a few extra channels. Anyway, I had forgotten all about this video! It is pretty cool! Prince looks just bizarre and crazy and twisted as the Gemini charactar with his face painted all weird. And then he's got the cool straight haired look when he's in the studio. I really liked it. Is this available anywhere?

i don't think it's available commercially, but if you go to launch.com, you can watch a re-edited version of the video, cut to synch up with the "vicki vale mix" - not really much new footage in the video, but it's almost all "gemini" and it's pretty stinkin' cool.

the cheesiness is kind of what i like about the video. i love that, as kitschy and cartoonish and silly as the whole thing is, there's still a darkness to it. i mean, sheesh, a shotgun in an electric chair??

What I was most disapointed in was the treatment Prince's music was given in the movie. I don't know how to explain why I didn't like it, but I guess the best way to explain it is, in the movie, his music is played on a boom box and that's how it sounded, like it was played on a really crappy boom box. I'm firmly planted in denial

Just saw this again a week or so ago. It's quite dark. Seeing it again I had forgotten about the shotgun and the chair. Pretty wierd. I didn't find it that cheesy...about as cheesy as Batman was. I think it's one of his better videos...from the outfits to the makeup, kinda menacing really. The whole song is pretty messed up. Over rated at the time. Under rated post Batman. For a top song (didn't it go number 1), it never ever gets played. Christian Zombie Vampires
