Here's One For The Org Nerds... I'm listening to a (mostly) instrumental jam and I have no idea what it's called.
Prince says on a couple of occasions "Is Wendy's guitar in the mix, cuz I can't hear it". It's kinda funky and uptempo. Any ideas what this might be? It did cross my mind that it might be fake since some of the spoken parts don't really sound like Prince. He also sings "I'm bad, good god" several times. While I'm here. I have an America instrumental that I think may not be Prince since the timing on the guitar against the drum machine is pretty sloppy. Is this a fake? ... Hold up, he's saying "Be Alive" or "to be alive". I was told by Giotto that this was a fake, but some parts do sound like Prince.
Perhaps just cause I can hear the Linn I'm being stupid. Just wondering.

I have the America recording you refer to. It's a definite fake in my opinion as the guitar work is way out. (But just in case, I can't bring myself to delete it ) -----------------------------------------

I know what u mean. I remember when I first got hold of all these tracks - I was at home in the UK with my parents broadband and I was just getting all these tracks and deleting some of them on a whim. Now I'm here in Thailand with my dial up and can't get them back! I even deleted Billy/Billy's Sunglasses and don't have it anymore.

I used to have some like Billy and A Positive Place that I no longer have. Deleted a few like 9 Lives and I'm trying to get them back now.

This track became commonly known as "Be Alive", on various bootleg compilations but it's actually a very early rehearsal featuring ideas that ended up in The Family outtake entitled "Feline" which was left off their self-titled album, due to St Paul's objection over the explicit lyrics. That's what Prince is actually singing there..."Feline!"
