The Batman soundtrack was released on June 20, 1989. This is the album that first introduced me to Prince, and I listened to it daily for a year or two - it will always hold a soft spot in my heart, even compared to what came before it (which I only discovered later).

I heard that a new 2-disc DVD release of the Batman movie will be out next year - even though this album isn't my top priority for remastering, the new DVD release would be a great opportunity to remaster and re-release this album with bonus tracks.

Thoughts on this album? Birthday wishes?

It's okay. The Future & Vicki Waiting are the best tracks for me. The rest is so-so. Trust has a cool groove, tho'.

And Electric Chair is pretty good, too.

Am I the only person in the world that LOOVES "arms of Orion"?
I know its gooey and sickly sweet, but it still gets me everytime.

i've been listening to it a lot recently. still feel pretty much as i did when i first heard it - electric chair is just drop dead fantastic, i prefer lemon crush to trust, arms of orion is pretty musically but lyrically nauseous, and generally i love the album.

I've always loved this album. I listened to it recently after quite a while and it still sounded so good to me. For me, with the release of this album the summer of 89 was just as exciting and special as the summer before when Lovesexy was released.

This was my first Prince album, and I still love every track, with the exception of Lemon Crush.

The Future, Vicki Waiting, and Scandalous are fantastic songs, and usually ones that I play almost daily... then again, Batman has been my favorite movie since I was a kid, so these songs all bring up a lot of nostalgia for me.

Hate it. It took only two weeks to make from start to finish and it shows.

The William Orbit/Mark Moore remixes and extended versions for Batdance, The Future and Electric Chair are a different story. i like those.

Batman album sucked ass--one of his worst ever.

I was listening to this album quite a bit last month and I remember how much I liked it. It's an underrated album just because it didn't match up to the previous album he made but it was just as enjoyable for me as those other albums. You still can't mess with Vicki Waiting, The Future, Trust, Scandalous and even Batdance.
