Without a doubt, Sign O' The Times. But I also think that Purple Rain should have gotten more gotten more Grammy's than it did. Had things been different, TGE should have gotten Grammys but we know what was happening. I hope that Musicology gets nominated for a whole lot of Grammy's, if for nothing else, to make up for lost time. [This message was edited Mon Jun 21 8:30:44 2004 by purplecam] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

it's "should HAVE"! I think Prince fans have to have some of the WORST grammar and spelling. "Sign O the Times" should have won a grammy, definitely. No....this bugs me way more - the misuse of YOUR and YOU'RE!!!!!

Prince quote from a 1990 Rolling Stone interview:
"I don't go to awards shows anymore," he says. "I'm not saying I'm better than anybody else. But you'll be sitting there at the Grammys, and U2 will beat you. And you say to yourself, 'Wait a minute. I can play that kind of music, too. I played La Crosse [Wisconsin] growing up, I know how to do that, you dig? But you will not do 'Housequake.'"

Sign "O" The Times should have won at least three Grammy. Completely underrated at the time of its release. __________________________________________________

In 1988 Prince was nominated for SOTT, MJ for Bad, U2 for the Joshua Tree, and a couple of others that I cannot recall for Album of the Year 1987.When U2 won Prince looked like he was going to blow up the joint. I think that he felt that if he lost to Jackson that it would not be as bad (no pun intended) but U2? If anyone has a copy of this on tape please let me know I would pay money !!!!! I remember that and I also have it on tape. That was a good award show. When Terrance Trent D'arby performed, someone out in the audience yelled out "Go head Prince!" That was real fucked up. Especially with P and Michael out in the audience. Michael put on a great performance with "Man in the mirror". Yeah, win P lost 2 U2, he did look kinda peeved. U could see he was trying 2 play it off and be cool, but... SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

No....this bugs me way more - the misuse of YOUR and YOU'RE!!!!! That bugs me too, honey....I was good in English grammar in school, so I know about that stuff. But, the Internet (yes it's supposed to be capitalized) has made almost EVERYONE grammatically lazy. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

And all the little white kids came running up to me talking shit about how U2 beat Prince. I've never forgotten that. I was so upset that SOTT didn't get a well-deserved grammy. Funny thing is, I was a big U2 fan, but never liked any of their subsequent output.

Sign 'o' the Times deserved a grammy, but so did Joshua Tree. Not that U2 needs defending (I'm not even a true fan) but I don't think it's fair of him to say that just because he did a song like the Cross that he could do the Joshua Tree. Check this song out at:
