NPG Exodus and Gold Nigga CD's I have 2 full length CD's 1 from 95, one from around the same time. They are both credited to NPG and one is called Gold Nigga and the other is called Exodus. Anyone know what these are and if they were ever officially released. The ones that I have aren't bootlegs, but apear to be printed and pressed with full artwork | |

Yes they were officially released.
Goldnigga was the first NPG album and was released in 1993. It was only sold at the NPG Shops, NPG Mail Order and at concerts (Prince originally wanted to release it 'properly' by WB rejected it). The first pressing of the album had 16 tracks and included the song 'Guess Whos Knockin' which was removed from subsequent pressings due to a copyright issue. There was also a CD Single released from the album of '2gether'. The tracklisting was... 1. GOLDNIGGA Pt.1 2. GUESS WHO'S KNOCKIN' 3. OILCAN 4. segue 5. DEUCE & A QUARTER 6. segue 7. BLACK M.F. IN THE HOUSE 8. GOLDNIGGA Pt.2 9. GOLDIE'S PARADE 10. segue 11. 2GETHER 12. segue 13. CALL THE LAW 14. JOHNNY 15. segue 16. GOLDNIGGA Pt.3 Exodus was the second NPG album and was released in 1995. It was again turned down by WB, but this time it did get a proper release in England, Europe and Australia (but not the U.S.). IMHO they both have some great songs on, but neither of them really adds up to a great album.
Too much filler and segues. Overall I like Exodus the best out of all the NPG albums (including the 3rd one 'Newpower Soul'). | |
