I think that all these songs which first appeared on the Yellow bootleg would have made up for a perfect follow-up album to D&P WOULD Prince have wanted to realease a commercially succesfull cd. Songs like Open Book, I wonder, LTWBD UHHUH and all the Martika songs (which are much better in P's versions) are brilliant in their simplicity.

I think "Sex in the Summer" could have been a #1 had he released it as the lead single off Emancipation. That line about "the cool boys just a waiting for the breeze that'll bust that butt out please!" would have had radio tripping.

I think "Shy" could have made a splash as well. Except for my whole "hang-up" about the fact that it is IMHO a song to be sung by a woman, "Open Book" has/had #1 potential as well.

open book?.....its ok not a number one maybe if he had re-worked it....wasnt that good.
