so after it's all said and done, my Prince tickets for last night were going to go to waste, I tried in vain to find someone to buy them, heck, I tried giving them away to no avail. My friend who was going to go with me backed out at 5:30 the night before...

So yesterday morning, bright and early I e-mailed the morning DJ at Mix108 here in Duluth, MN, I offered my tickets to give away to someone who could make it to the show last night. I just didn't want to drive 2 nights in a row, and was hoping someone could use them.

JJ Holliday called me back shortly after and said they'd definetly be interested and when could I run them up. He promised a prize package of everything he could get his hands on (which he didn't have to do).
On my lunch I ran the tickets up, and collected a prize pack of 4 passes to Valleyfair, 4 passes to Camp Snoopy, and $40 in gift certificates to the Powerhouse bar/grill in Proctor. (WOW! )
I come back to work and flip on the radio to see how they're gonna work the give away...

The Raspberry Booty contest was born.
At 1:00 they annouced that the first 4 people who could make it up to the station would compete for tonites tickets to the Prince concert.
2:00 they have their 4 contestants, and they'll be sitting on 40lb blocks of ice, sans undies so there's only 1 layer (their pants) between their booty and the ice, for 108 minutes. (hence giving them a raspberry colored booty)
2:30...they're making them stand up and move around a lil to make the heat/cool factor worsen (aren't they rotten!)
2:45ish, they now are holding 10lb blocks of ice as well. (holding to their chests, up on their heads)
3:48 3 out of the 4 contestants make it through...they put the tickets in 3 envelopes.
A girl named Becky is heading down to see Prince.

I'm going to stop by the studios and get copies of the pictures, and I can't wait to scrapbook this. I taped the updates on the radio (they thanked me profusely) and taped the little blurb
on the news
