My memory was it was an awesome. I never saw anything like it before. Concerts used to be people standing in front of the mic and maybe breaking a guitar. Prince sang from a great big brass bed with nothing but his purple drawers, got on the floor and sang (never saw anyone singing while laying on their back), and called audience on stage (some lucky girl) and sing to here. I am trying to remember, I think there was a table and chairs like it was a dinner date with champagne and a singe rose in a vase. It has been like 20 years.
My mom is a nurse and was working at a hospital that night and I can't remember why but Andre Cymone had to go to the emergency room that night. Nothing serious, and when she heard about the concert she mentioned that her daughter (me) went to that concert. I think I was 15 or just turned 16. And her co- workers couldn't believe that my mom would let me go. That is when she found out about lyrics like Head, Sister, Dirty Mind, Controversy, the humping the bed and floor, and mic and ..... She was waiting at the door when I got home. I got an earful that night... because I didn't tell her what kind of concert it was going to be. My first one was at the Release Party on Feb.24th this year.
If you don't want to count that as a concert (since it was a sort of a "mini concert), then Musicology Tour May 28th,2004

JimmyNothing said: Having been there several times that year as an Arsenal fan (FA Cup semi final, Coca Cola cup final, FA Cup final and FA Cup final replay and I think an England game against the USA) I was very familiar with the place!
FA Cup semi final. Grrrr! Yeah I was there as well. Don't remember anything apart from the opening. In fact I've seen Prince 13 times and I remember very little about any of them. I know I enjoyed them at the time and I was never under the influence of anything. Has anybody else experienced this? My first Prince gig was Nude Tour at Wembley Arena in 1990. It was my first ever gig so was a great experience.

Purple Rain tour--the Fabulous Forum, Inglewood, CA
I got tickets at the last minute. Very lucky. I was too young to see a scalper (13) but my friend won tickets and had already gone to the show the night before. The musicology show was very different, but possibly even more entertaining. The crowd may have been louder this year, too. Check this song out at:
