I just watched a Golden Girls re-run on Lifetime and in one scene Sofia was out on the linai with headphones on singing along to Purple Rain! Anyone else seen that one? Not that it makes a lick of difference in our lives, but I just thought it was nifty.

Yup I was watching too That's one of my favorite shows of all time and that episode cracks me up lol.

that is my favorite show! the original sex and the city! they mention p in a few different episodes...and its always sophia that mentions him, lol!

There was another episode where Sophia referred to him as "that little black guy"

Anyone also remember the episode of Roseanne where she dressed up as Prince [Purple Rain era] for Halloween. Hilarious episode!

I've seen that one about 5 times...i love it.....

I remember that one...there were 2 other GG episodes in which Prince was mentioned:

1. In an episode in Season 3 the girls are in their favorite spot...the dinner table eating cheesecake and Blanche walks out saying something like "Someday I know my prince will come"...Dorothy who wasnt listening said "What did she say"...Sophia said.."I wasnt listening either but I think she's going to date that black guy Prince"

2. In a episode in a later season...Dorothy (a substitute teacher) is grading papers at the dinner table and she's in awe over how dumb the students are. She says.."I dont believe it...this kid loved A TALE TO TWO CITIES because that is where Prince is from"

I love the GOLDEN GIRLS. It's my favorite show of all time. I am starting an online petition for Disney to release GG on DVD!!!!!

It's about damn time. If lame shows like JUST SHOOT ME can have a DVD out...why not a timeless classic!?
