Prince met Bob Marley? Or so the story goes...... I just read about Prince's meeting with Bob Marley back in '79 during his first tour. I believe they were supposed to collaborate on a track, but it fell through. The reason being that here's this legend of Reggae and former tough Rude Bwai who's about to work with this weirdo, bikini brief wearing cat from Minneapolis. Can anyone verify this? I call bull.. Prince did not have the influence in 79 to collaberate with Bob. They could not have been further apart in styles either.

They may have met, but I doubt there was to be a collaboration between them, because I doubt Marley was even interested in such a thing. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Yeah, they did. They met briefly after his concert on the 'Prince' tour at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles (28th November, 1979) Prince was previously (4 a short time span) managed by Don Taylor - Marley's manager as well as the legendary Jimmy Cliff. i thought they met backstage at a prince concert in the early 80's. Bob was offended by the way he was he was dressed and called him a batty boy
