I saw another version of Prince's 1992 album, "Symbol" on EBAY. It has a gold slipcase with his symbol on the front engraved in purple. It has a digipak and a lryic/photo booklet. The original copy of "Symbol" has a gold symbol on the front, but I don't know if that's the explicit or edited version. And there was another just like the original copy (I just mentioned) that didn't have the symbol on the cover, it just has the cover picture with Prince & The New Power Generation on the front. I'm very confused with those 3 versions , and I don't know which one Amazon.com is going to give me. Somebody, please explain this to me?

You are more then likely going to get the version without the symbol imprint on the front. The Gold slipcase was a special limited edition and sells for more money but the album is teh same. The original printing had the symbol painted on the jewel case but all subsequent printings do not have the painted symbol.

I'm quite sure you will not get the edited version because the edited version was only released on a limited basis and was well marked.

I got the gold case one as well as the one with the painted on symbol. The gold case is just a collectors item, I got it back in 92 when the album came out and it cost like $30 new.

The symbol is now on the booklet.

I believe that the clean version of Symbol was promo only (so Amazon would not sell these new), and you can tell a clean version by it's lack of a printed Parental Advisory logo on the booklet.

It was laying around in a box for years. It's little like having pretty things and then storing them away out of sight. Traded it for an item I wanted (white vinyl BA).

There's another version not mentioned above. I seen on ebay a few years ago; it's a 2 disc digipak with the clean and dirty version to the album. Am i sorry i didn't bid now
