Does SPACE contain a loop of COSMIC SLOP ? I heard a live rendition of Cosmic Slop the other day ( Parliament/Funkadelic) and the bassline sounded similar to the one on Space ( off the COME album )...since the concert was quite new, I´ve been wondering whether Parliament borrowed from Prince or vice versa...
I´ve never heard the studio version of Cosmic Slop, so maybe some of you could be so kind as to provide me with some info..... " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I don't think it does although I was listening to 'Papa was, too' by Joe Tex and the whole rhythm track is so similar to 'Now' it's untrue! 'Papa was, too' is a cover of 'Tramp' BTW which is also sampled on '7'. So we know Prince loves his old skool funk n' soul! so maybe he was influenced by it?

Papa was Too was answer record to Tramp... back then... most artists did "answer records" to popular cuts..and 1stly that version of tramp isnt the original Tramp that he sampled the original one is by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas.

Cosmic Slop (1973) The 5th Funkadelic Studio Album and as you know space dropped in August, 1994 on the album Come The bass line shares a slightly similiar swing, listen close enough and you can tell that the Cosmic Slop bassline is longer and follows the rythem part of the song, that is if you ever get to hear the studio version.
